Trouble with capture from DVD

A friend of mine is trying to capture DVD video from a DVD that was finalized thru a sony camera. They get the video captured & into the project...add music and add all the bells & whistles... However, once the final project is then burned to a DVD....the video looks bad that had originally came from the original DVD. Any ideas on this. They are using The newest edition of premiere elements.

What are the details of the capture of the DVD-VIDEO from the finalized DVD disc to the Premiere Elements Timeline?

Is the Media Downloader being used? If so, do you wait for conforming to go to completion before moving onward?

How is your project set? DVD or Blu-Ray? Other?

What does the project look like in the Preview before you burn? What is the final product and what are you using to view it?
