What's the easiest way to convert .avi to mpeg4? Does anyone recommend a particular app?

What version of Premiere Elements do you have? And, are you thinking about uploading the mpeg4 to a specific site, like YouTube, or to an iPod?

Add On,

What type of avi do you have? DV AVI? What is the source of the avi?

I'm using PE4 now. It's DV .avi, I think. I want to post it to YouTube (and other sites). The Flash rendering that PE does is small and low quality.

There is a topic at muvipix discussing the new Upload to YouTube feature in version 4

Please check out Steve's article on What's New In Version 4 too.

There is a Share feature that will let you upload to YouTube directly and in the correct format.

Initially you did not say, but I did ask and you said that you were using Premiere Elements 4.

Sorry, even after you said version 4, when I was typing my response, I was thinking you had version 3.

One of the big marketing features of Premiere Elements 4 is that "direct connect" so to speak to YouTube. From what I hear, it is supposed to take care of all the guess work and optimization for that route. What did your PDF Help section have to say about the feature?

Thanks to Chuck Engels for refocusing me on the version in question.
