I have a gif file that is 2.3" x .7"; 72ppi; 166 x 53 pixels.
I want to turn this into a "Buy" button on my web site.
I want to make the image a little smaller and put the word "buy" on top of it.
My first problem was that the text was very jagged looking so I tried increasing the resolution of the gif file. That make the image too large on the web page.
I've got myself tied up in knots and don't know what to do next.

thanks for any help.

Make sure you are viewing at 100% (View>Actual Pixels). That's the way it will look on your web-site. My guess is that you are looking at a higher magnification and then it will get the jaggies.

Thanks.
Turns out I should have been using Save For Web which allows you to resize without PE trying to mess with resolution.
