This was my first attempt at following a tutorial and producing something acceptable, I think. The tutorial was on lighting effects.

It's called Sunshine and Disorder (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=26172).

Thank You Debra, Judy, Anita, and Swell.

I was driving past that house (the disorder) and jumped from my truck to take a few pictures. I felt certain someone was going to come out with a shotgun and ask, "What the hell are you doing taking pictures of my house?"

Sunrays are great you did a great job but the house, I'm not sure of:rolleyes: a bit messy for me. Can't blame you for getting a shot, you don't see many in that condition nowadays.

Great job on the lighting effect. Fantastic, actually. Where did you find that tutorial? I haven't come across it yet. Again, great job!

Joe,

Great job on the Sunshine tut. Looking at your gallery, my eye was taken with the B&W version of the broken down boat house. I just love old buildings that are falling down. Strange guy aren't I? ;)

Thank You Shell.

Thanks Charlotte. I went out the other day looking to take pictures of unusual things. I saw the house and knew it would be perfect for the lighting effects tutorial.

Thank you Sela.

The tutorial is part of the Elements Killer Tips (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/subscriber/podcast.php?action=archive), it's called Lighting Effects and it was posted May 02, 2007.

Thanks Charles.

I love old stuff too. We have hundreds, if not thousands, of old Tobacco Barns and other farm buildings in the area where I live. I'm thinking about starting a project to photograph as many as I can. It won't be too long before many of them are gone and replaced with subdivisions.

Beautiful sun rays. Interesting house, makes me curious as to whom might be happy living in disarray like that. They must be very laid back. Do I envy or scorn that? A bit of both I think.

Thank You Toni.

Not that you are Toni, but I'm reluctant to judge them without knowing more facts. They could be emotionally disturbed, have limited intelligence, or have health problems. They could simply not care what society thinks and enjoys living in clutter. They could just be lazy.

Either way I would bet they're interesting.
