I admit it. I'm a very naive newbie.
Does anyone know when Scott Kelby's new book on Elements 6 is expected to hit the bookstores? I just received the boxed-version of PSE6, but have not installed it yet. Up to this point, I've been playing around with the 30-day trial version of PSE5. I sure would like to have the new PSE6 book at my side when I pull the trigger on 6.
Thanks.

His web site doesn't mention a PSE 6 book. Have you seen an announcement somewhere?

It is listed on Amazon with a 'pre-order' price. No date listed yet. I'm sure it will be as good as the rest of his. Matt Kloskowski is in on this one as well, so I'm sure it will be another great one!

I don’t think he does. There are rumors he is actually an alien!
I have thought he should write a book on time management... (I’ll take some royalties if he ever publishes that one:D)
He has a knack for keeping up the humor.

I just ordered the Scott Kelby Elements 6 book from Barnes and Noble. It's expected to be released during first week of January.

This site gives some information that Scott's book will be available in December 2007

However, it also has a link to PET!

Last I heard about Scott and Matts, book was a publish release date somewhere around the 1st week in February. I think I saw it at Peachpit Press. Will check first op I have.

I hope someone creates training videos as well for Elements 6! I will buy his book as I like learning from both written and visual material.
I'm sort of a complete newbie, bought a Canon Rebel XT last X-mas but I haven't been taking pictures like I should. I feel so overwhelmed with everything, Lenses, Aperture, Lens Speed, Iso, White Balance, bracketing, good tripods and heads, Elements, workflow, image processing, etc. etc.
I need to learn it all from how to take a photo to how to process the final photo.
Oh well, I have 5 years until my son reaches high school football in which time I hope to have most of this digital photography down (and also a nice Canon L series telephoto lens). I currently only have a inexpensive 28-105 lens to learn with. Which I used last winter for his indoor basketball and baseball this summer. I took a lot of blurry photos. LOL
I kick myself for not going out and taking more pictures when the weather was nice, but I was pretty busy with helping coach.
I recently just bought Elements 6, so I guess I can download those 1000 poor pictures I took over the last 9 months.
This year I would like to learn the basics of taking good photos, some hands on training of Elements 6 (hopefully video training) and maybe a good quality lens if the funds are there. :D
Sorry to ramble....I'm tired and been surfing photography and Elements all night.
Thanks for listening.
Scott

Welcome to the forum Scooter, you've come to the right place to learn about Elements. I have to agree about the videos, nothing quite like watching someone else doing it and having a go :)
