Martha... you change your image to grayscale but your document is still in RGB mode. Is that what you need?

I just found my image. Pulled into Elements made a copy changed the copy to black and white. Added my texture and went from there.

LOL, thanks! :p Like Rita, I couldn't do that to a real person either, so I found a stock photo of a doll (close-ups of dolls' faces already look creepy to me anyway, LOL)... :D
