Help -- I am one of those 50 year newcomers to PS Elements! I have a photo of two children sitting side-by-side. I want to erase one of the children and then crop the picture to just have one subject. How is the best way to go about this? I admit that I am having a hard time learning all this program can do.

Hi there ...
... and welcome to the forum :)
Donlt worry about Elements seeming difficult to being with ... you do get used to it and it gets easier :)
Now to do that the best way is to crop the image first ... that way you are not trying to cover over parts that you will not be using.
Then select the clone tool, find a suitable part of the image to use to cover up the second child and start cloning.
If you wish you can let us see the image by using Pixentral. That would make it easier for us to help you,. If you do wish to do that then:
First resize your image using "save for web"
Set the longest side to 750 pixels
then adjust the quality slider until the image is around 150K.
and save it with a new name.

Follow the instructions on the site and then when your image is uploaded copy the URL from just above the image and paste it into a message here :)
Hope this helps ...
