Post your comments for the challenge here. I hope I selected a good photo. I looked at maybe 200 + photos and could not make up my mind. Thanks for the tag for this week Toni.

Bill,
What a surprise to see the Parker Pens. We used to have the world headquarters for Parker. The original Parker family was from Janesville.

Please forgive me but I'm a long time lurker and new user and frist time poster, and this may seem like the most basic of questions, but, Tina and Smiles, you used the crop shape effects and I. for the life of me, can't figure out how to do it... It's most basic of things but I can't figure it out... Can someone help?

Welcome Al
We sure have fun here and this is the place to ask the questions. I used the cookie cutter tool that is in PSE 5. Give the cropping a try and post what you have done. Anything goes here.

Tina, thanks, I figured it had to be so simple it was right there.... I've never been accused of being the sharpest tack in the box.... I just retired and I'm looking forward to having some time now to play.

Al , you will be addicted before long. Good thing you are retired because you would not have time to go to work once you get started. Feel free to ask questions on the different fourms here. Everyone will help and you will be posting some wonder photo creations I am sure. Do make a gallery and share what you are doing.

Thanks Tina. I am just starting to learn how to make frames. And matts. This is the first time I textured a stroke to create a frame, and I will be doing it more often. Dead easy! Hey, I can't believe I just said something was dead easy:). It seems like only yesterday that everything was 'oh so confusing and difficult', and I thought I would never get the hang of anything. Yeah yeah, I know, there's a long winding road still ahead.........:D:D

Maria, I really like your effects! Would you care to share??
Oh, thank you so much! :)
I used the Virtual Photographer plugin in Elements (vph Set 3 --> oldgold --> Red Filter, Effect: wash, BW: Antique) for the golden tones, and added the "raindrops" to the finished JPEG file in IrfanView.
Maria yours gives me a feeling of mystery in the air.
Thank you!! I happened to watch the film Rebecca the other night and was inspired by the landscape and the rain... Thanks for the lovely autumn photo! :)

You're more than welcome! I was just playing with the settings in Virtual Photographer, when the result suddenly became interesting and I noted down the steps for future use (something I usually don't remember to do, LOL).
I'd love to see how it worked for your photo! :)
