Is there a way to make "thumbnails" the default.

I am wonderring if there is a way in PSE3 to have the "Windows" file browser (Open File) icon always default to thumbnails? I know the Elements file browser shows thumbnails but I find the "windows like" one easier to use.

In my PC environemt in general (XP Home version), I have set Windows Explorer to always default to thumbnails. How can I do that within Elemenst 3? I get tired of using the dropdown every time I open the browser up to select files.

Hi...

In the File Browser, go to View and from the menu select either Small, Medium or Large Thumbnail.

With File Browser open -- select VIEW and then select your thumbnail size -- mine is set at Large Thumbnails and doesn't change.

I guess I wasn't very clear. I know how to make it work in the Elements File Browser.

My question is the icon on the tool bar that looks like a file folder. I belive it would be the "open file" icon. When you click on it, what pops up looks just like Windows Explorer. I want to make thumbnails the default in this window.

As I said, in my general Window's desktop, I do have the Windows Exploxer default set to thumbnails for all file folders.

It looks like Elements is just calling the Windows command from it's toolbar, but it isn't picking up my preferences that I set in the main WE environment.

I just messed a round a bit, I couldn't get it to stay once I got out of the "open" window. If I clicked on the view icon at the top and picked thumbnails, I didn't have to change it for every folder. Once i closed and went to file>open .... it was back to list again.

that's weird...mine is always in thumbnail view....unless I change it otherwise :shock:

I think the question is to understand how the File Browser can be the default instead of the organizer. Not sure that can be done.
