Well I got my book today. Wendy and Jodi I think you both would love it, since you are so imaginative. (or maybe you don't need it because you are imaginative.) Wendy, I can clear up why the feet/boots had a different name for the creator. This book is a viewing of work from many different people. It ended up being good that I printed that tutorial off the net because the book only has 2 pages, with the very basics, not indepth 'how too'. There are lots of examples though and while some aren't really indepth, it's enough to get me going and understanding how to do it. I LOVE IT!! So far I've only looked at the pictures.
There is one example with an old car scaled down and put on a monopoly board, with the reflection of one of the monopoly cards on the car. I am thinking that would be a perfect one to do for my daughter's boyfriend. He loves his old clunker and he loves monopoly.

There's a couple lessons on this link from it.

This is the full tutorial of the feet turned into boots. In the book it's only a couple pages. Not this indepth tutorial. So very cool!!

Pauline ...
Next time I am in the nearest large town I am going to try to see the book ... not too sure if I like the idea of shortened tutorials ... especially with such a complex one as this.

Some are more detailed than others. I think the reason that one only showed the 3 starting photos and the end one was because of the length of the tutorial. (I think it was 11 pages! The swimming pool one is all in here, and the other one off the net. I would not classify it as a beginner book. It's more like an 'idea' book. I got a terrific deal from e-bay ($13 US including shipping)

I'm enjoying the book too Pauline. Lots of good creative ideas. I have it on loan from our library right now (sort of a test drive) but may buy a copy.
Another book I am really enjoying right now is also by Barry Huggins, titled Creative Photoshop Lighting Techniques. It steps you through just about every type of lighting style you'd like to create and has really helped me appreciate the power of the lighting filter.
It's written for Photoshop but most of the techniques seem to work in PSE too.
A revised/updated version for CS2 is coming out 10/1. Probably a good idea to wait for a week or so before buying, unless you don't have CS2 and can find a good price on last year's book.

Hi Bill thanks for the heads up on the lighting book. I have my eye on that one too. Only saw it on the net though, but it's an avenue I need a lot more knowledge on.
I think the Surreal book was a good buy for me as I really like that kind of stuff. It has so many ideas in it.
