Hi,
The background for this was made using the kaleidoscope filter on the marigolds in the top slide.
A simple effort but I find it pleasing.

Oh that is so nice ... the colours just leap out at you and I do like the contrast between the black and the bright colours. Very nice indeed :)

Hi All,
Thanks for all the nice comments.
As for where I find the time, well, I'm retired, and due to a health problem, unless my wife (God Blesss Her) is available to drive me I'm stuck at home.
PE3 keeps me from going stir crazy and keeps my mind active.

Well I think it's great that you use your time creatively instead of mindless sitting in front of the tv. I bet the time flies by. It's so wonderful to have a good hobby, no matter what your age or health.

Stunning, Kevin.
And you are right - this is definitely something which keeps the mind active. Each time you try something, it opens up new opportunities.
After seeing what you've done in the past couple of weeks, I'm going to have to invest in that book. Right now I'm working my way through Barbara's "Missing Manual", and some of it is finally making sense. You guys give me hope.

Hi Liz,
Am also reading The Missing Manual, it is very good but it makes you realise how much you have to learn!
Eventually we could become as good as Wendy, Jodi and all the other gurus but I think in my case that will a long time in the future.
Best of luck with all your creations.
Kev.

:) Kevin - This is kind of like the tortoise and hare. I'm plodding along here and you are moving fast, but we'll probably both get there and have one heck of a ride :!:
You've done what I plan to do when we get back from the Antarctic - subscribed to the newsletters (along with all the other benefits). Right now we're struggling to put together all the odd equipment we need to trudge in the ice. I just want to be able to edit and play with my pictures on board ship so that we have something to work with when we get back. This is such a once-in-a-lifetime trip that I don't want to blow it when there is no second chance. And it's the first time I will be relying on the digital camera over my regular 35 mm. Haven't even reached the scanning stage yet in this program either.
At first I wanted to say I envy what you have done, but that's too selfish. I truly do admire the strides you are making and send kudos - along with thanks that you are showing that it can be done by those of us who are in our retirement years.
:P

Hi there ...
I think that the best way to learn Elements is simply to experiment with different things ... I do lots of tutorials and once I have done them I then think how I could use the technique to do something else.
I didn't actually start using PSE until August 2003 ... but I can say that the more you use it the easier it becomes :)
