View Full Version : "Scraps of Pink" Challenge
Wags374
October 4th, 2007, 11:51 PM
Our October challenge is to create a coordinating "mega kit" around the "breast cancer awareness" theme. We are planning on putting this kit up for sale with all the proceeds being donated to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Even if you do not consider yourself a scrapper please feel free to join the challenge!
The guidelines for this challenge are pretty simple:
1. Using the theme & provided color scheme (please make sure your color #'s match) create four (4) items to contribute. (background paper, embellishments, word art etc...) Any metal items should be created using "shineysilver" form the MetalSheen collection found on Adobe Exchange.
2. Make sure your name or nickname is part of the file name, so that you can receive design credit. (It helps to make it the first part of your file name i.e. Wags teal plaid paper)
3. Email your 4 items to me at WagsQP *at* gmail.com. (Please only send 4 to me - you will be uploading all of them to the gallery yourself) I will then send you the link and password for the shared gallery at www.Viovio.com who has once again volunteered to host.
4. Post your creations here!
5. The challenge will run from Oct 4th - 15th. With the completed kit tentatively scheduled to be available for purchase by the 17th.
Since the full purpose of this challenge is to learn new skills and to support breast cancer awareness/research your participation in this challenge means that you will agree to allow the sale of your contributions to the kit for the purpose of donating to the Susan B Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Helpful hints:
Save as psd in case you need to edit, then FLATTEN the image prior to saving it as a jpeg - this helps to reduce the file size, also saving it as a 9 or 10 instead of 12 helps with file size too.
Background paper should be 12x12 (3600x3600) and created at 300 dpi.
For items with transparent areas remember to save as .png file - and to crop closely around the item - .png's are huge files and even the transparent (blank) areas increase file size.
Please respect other's copyrights and do not use "personal use only" items in the creations you submit.

i am not sure but i sent copies of my full size, that is what i did last time and it seemed to work well.

If you participated in the Sept challenge, you can just send me a composite or a small file. Since the only purpose for sending me the items is to verify your intent to participate. (If someone hadn't followed through and posted their items, I would have uploaded them myself - fortuantely last time everyone followed through.)
Looks good Judy!
I went to my first oil painting class last night. It is taught in the same style as that guy with fuzzy hair on PBS does. Really amazing what I was able to create, so I will go back for the final class next week. Don't think I will take up oil painting anytime soon - but I learned to look at nature a little differently and hopefully that will improve my photography and my scrapping skills.

Here’s my contribution. Thank you everyone for coordinating this month’s kit. It’s so much fun trying to think things up and then creating them!

1 background
1 word overlay
1 heart pin
(The heart pin is actually one continuous pin. I thought this way it would give everyone the freedom of placing it wherever they wanted and trimming accordingly.)

Jane,
Can we use the "shiney silver" from the Metal Sheen layerstyle, which we downloaded for the last kit. The charms that everyone made were so nice in the kits. ??
Wags374
October 5th, 2007, 10:57 AM
Yes you can use the shineysilver from that - did I forget to put that in the instructions? I should have waited until morning to start this thread - I was really tired when I got home last night. Should have taken my camera to take pictures of the paintings - I will get the one I painted last night back next week. They needed a safe place to dry a bit.
Great contributions everyone!
Since we are planning on putting this up for sale for charity - please be extra cautious about using only those items that are your personal creations or ones that you have a commercial license for.

Diana is on vacation right now, or I'm sure she would make us another color pallette to install.
So in lieu of that - here are the instructions she gave in the Sept Challenge thread. If someone has time to put it together and wants to share it here that would be awesome.
To Create Custom Color Swatches in Elements
Select Text Tool
In the Options Bar, click the dropdown arrow beside Color
Click on More Colors, which brings up the Color Picker
Type in the color code or pick a color from the color palette, then click OK
It will add your color to the others in the swatch, but don’t worry about that now
Repeat until you get the colors you want added
When you’re done, from the Color dropdown, click Options
Select Preset Manager
In the Preset Manager window, Ctrl-click on the colors you want to keep in your custom swatch, so that each of them have a black border around them
Now click the Save Set button
When the Save window comes up, give your swatch a name and at “Save In” at the top navigate to the Presets/Color Swatches folder
Click Save
Restart Elements to see your swatch in the Color Options dropdown.
Under Window from the Menu, you can click on Color Swatches if you want to have a floating swatch palette, or you can dock it in your Palette Bin if desired, but clicking on More from the Color Swatch palette, and selecting “place in palette bin when closed” and then click the X to close it.
Here’s a link for a tutorial how to automatically create a custom color swatch from the colors in a photo, so you can create coordinating backgrounds, etc.:

Thanks for coordinating this again! It's exciting to be part of creating a kit for such a worthy cause.
I made one paper last night, will work more this weekend.:)
Jane, You'll have to "scrap" your painting so we can see it! Sure gives a different meaning to scrap, huh?:D

You know I was thinking that I would scrap a page for the family yearbook about my painting experience. I'll have to take my camera next week and get a picture of myself with the instructor. :)
Last night he was talking about how photo's can't show the light the way a painting does. He is right that most don't - but I kept thinking to myself as he was talking "well they do if they are photoshopped right". LOL!

I was just setting up a swatch set and noticed that the numbers my color picker was coming up with were often one number off - so a slightly different shade. I typed in the correct number and made a color swatch to share.
Please use the color #'s or download and install this swatch. http://www.sendspace.com/file/1cdv1h That way we will have a coordinated kit.

After seeing it mentioned in the Sept Kit threads, I purchased some commercial bow-templates to help me out. I used one for the little charm bows and they will be marked as such (altho I don't think I need to being as they are commercial??).
NMarti
October 6th, 2007, 07:11 PM
Pat
It depends on the TOU the designer put with the templates. Some require credit, some do not. I use overlays & templates for some things I do as I just don't have time to "design from scratch" for everything.
bayhli
October 6th, 2007, 07:16 PM
Thanks Nancy, I'm pretty sure there's no need in this this TOU but I'll double check.
You sure are doing some beautiful work ... I still have the survivor kit you so graciously got to me last year, still so special. I'm just so pleased with myself because I finally figured out how to make the ribbon curve! :D
And I absolutely love that nose!! Talk about making people smile with that one....
Wags374
October 6th, 2007, 10:49 PM
For commercial license - it depends on the TOU. Many say no credit necessary, but it is polite to mention them. Just let me know by the 15th who needs a courtesy mention for those commerical items.
What everyone is creating looks great! Don't feel intimidated - we all had to start somewhere and we all grow and improve with practice. And who knows what someone else will find appealing - sometimes simple is better for a layout.:)
Don't forget to email me your 4 items (or a composite if you participated in last months challenge.) although it may be Monday before tech support is back in the office and you all can start uploading. (Unless of course I figure out what I'm doing wrong and can get it working on my own....yeah like that is going to happen... LOL!)

I wanted to participate in this also as I have a niece that has been battling cancer since she found it when she was pregnant with her 5th child. That was 7 or eight years ago. In January of this year her husband was diagnose with a brain tumor and died about 2 months later leaving her with 5 children to raise. She has been going for chemo then goes to the university and lays down for awhile and goes to class( trying to become a biology teacher for underprivileged children). She is so strong but she is now trying to find homes for her younger children who have learning disabilities. Her road is a hard one; she is admired by so many.
I have been working on a few papers and embellishments to send but have a question. I have been working on a ribbon in PSE5 and wondered if it would be okay to include it as desaturated png file so that it could be colored what ever was needed? Here is the file. If you have any suggestions that would make it better as others can pick up things that I have missed. I still have the psd with the ribbon and and the bow separate.

You are certanily welcome to inlcude them as a greyscale png for folks to recolor. You can include the ribbon and bow seperately.
If you are wanting it to appear like the bow is knotted around the ribbon then you will need to select the ribbon layer and go to filters > distort> liquify and then pinch the area down where you are wanting the ribbon to be attached. Experiement until it looks right to you. :)
Wow your neice is certainly a strong women - prayerfully she will make a complete recovery soon!

You did a really nice job on that. Yes, as Jane said I would keep them separate. That way if someone needs a smaller bow they can resize it.

October 8th, 2007, 12:28 AM
Hi Everyone,
This is such a wonderful way to help.I have only done one other scrapbook kit and still struggle with making all my own things. I do want you to know that the bow and ribbon will be separate and they have been greyscaled so you will be able to color them. The colored bow may not be the right color as it looks a little dark and bright on my screen.
Jane, what do you want me to send to you and do I put everything else in a zipped file. If I have to much just tell me and I will delete whatever is necessary. If I put them in a zipped file, should I separate them into several zipped files?
Thanks

There are still a couple of things I want to finish before I show them hopefully to be done by tomorrow. But.... I have never done this before, this is my very first time creating a scrap kit. I have no idea how to get this stuff ready for uploading. Could some one please help.? I of course at this point have 6 different files and will probably have 10 by the time I have finished. Anyway, I would appreciate all the help that I can get. I will try to post a pic of what I have so far.
Thank you so much

Hello, here is what I have so far, I know that it is not as exciting as some of the wonderful stuff I have seen so far. There are so many great designers here. But I figure for my very first attempt at this, I am fairly satisfied:)

When you email 4 items (only 4 please) I will send you all the instructions on how to upload to the shared gallery.
Other than that.... Background papers should be 12x12 at 300dpi and saved as jpegs. Items that have transparent backgrounds should be saved as png files and cropped closely about the item.

OK, this is going to sound really stupid, but I can't help it. Do I send them in an attachment? and do I secretly have your e-mail and I dont know it or is this something that you need to send me? See, i told you it was going to sound really stupid:)

Lots of really great items have been uploaded. I am logged in and when I click on an item to download I don't get options for the originals so I can't get a full sized image with a file name to download. Anyone else having this or it is just me. My files are the only ones I get the original option for.
Vesta
October 9th, 2007, 02:30 PM
Kim that's what happens to me also. I had no original option either. I also wanted to delete my embellishments and put them on one page with no background with instructions to select each one with the marquee tool and move to your new page but now their is no delete button for your own images or an add image button. Are you seeing this also.

Vesta, I get the add image and delete image options. Just not the originals for the others. Make sure you didn't get logged off. I had that blonde moment yesterday. I think they are actually senior blonde moments as Jane puts them as I am over 40:D

I went back on. Here are my questions; Is there a way to get to this gallery if I go through the login page first not the password page.
Kim it did work( ability to add an image and delete) after I logged in but I can't get to the gallery from there unless I am missing something. Still no orignal except for my my own.
Ladybug,
I downloaded mine at the large size too. To keep from typing the titles in the downloads just highlight the title and click copy from the menu, then save picture as when the save in box comes up put your cursor on the place for naming and right click and on the menu box chose paste then just hit save. I found this out because I was too lazy to type each name in:)

At first I thought it was because we were supposed to buy the kit - because it's a fund raiser, but from what I'm reading, that doesn't seem true for those who are creating and uploading.
If you download the "large" you will get a smaller background paper than 12x12. I'd wait until the bug is fixed.

Good question Jan - should we be sharing this freely amongst contributors, or should everyone that wants this pay whatever fee we come up with?
Vesta - I think you can start with the gallery page and then log in from there, but I'm not positive. Since I'm set up as admin for that gallery and am technically sharing it with you all.

The bug is fixed, at least it works for me now. I just downloaded Vesta's embellishment page to test something on it for her. I got the Original link this time and to make sure I opened another file too. If anyone is worried when you go back and don't see Vesta's embellishments as individual files don't panic. She put them on one page. She may even yet change it so I would hold off on the download of those. Papers are fine.
Jane has asked me to keep the tally on contributors and items this month. Just so you all know, the categories are Papers, Embellishments, Tags, Ribbons & Bows (one category), Alphas, Frames, and Word Art. If I am missing something please let me know.
Vesta
October 9th, 2007, 06:03 PM
Thanks Kim for helping me. I took your suggestions and separated the wordart, frames and ribbon and bow and put the other on one sheet.
It is working fine I am going to down load either late tonight or early morning. I hope they will put my things I just downloaded with the my other stuff.
How do you guys organize your downloads in the case?

Vesta, I am with you. I just started all this with Jane's challenges. My submissions have got to be the worse but at least I am trying.
On another note, Is anyone else having trouble with AA6660's embellishment and ribbon files? I kept getting an encrypted page and my browser would freeze and I would have to close it and restart it. Firefox gives the options to restore your session and when it does I get a download window to download a .PSD file. That is the only way I was able to get the files. Aren't the files we upload suppose to be .png or .jpg. AA6660's papers are .jpg and no problem.

I have been downloading things this morning and came across a lace paper on page 7 between Kim Robert's items and NikkiL's. It is just labeled as "lace paper" can whoever uploaded it fix the name for proper credit? Also Kim Robert's embellishment Flower2 is uploaded twice so you can save yourselves a download and just get one of them. I sure wish there was a faster way to download everything.:D
Edit: Never mind on the lace paper, I see that it is a duplicate of Judy Woodard.

Jane for one thing when I created my embellishments I forgot to check the eyeball the on white background layer off so that it was transparent.
My procedure usually for the png files is to create the embellishment save as a psd file then check the eyeball on the background layer off if it is white and not transparent..then save as a png file.
I also forgot to name some like Vesta's-ribbon & bow.
Also I remembered what you said about all the extra space around the png file and redid mine creating smaller blanks in the beginning. Some where 3x3 other where a lot smaller at 300ppi. I could possibly do this even smaller(advise needed here for me).
I also wanted to save time in downloading so I put several embellishments on a 5x5 or 3x3 keeping a good deal of space between them. These where the embellishments that didn't fall into the ones Kim wanted separate for counting purposes and also for making it easier to place into our own download files.
Hope this helps someone

I just finished finally downloading everything uploaded so far. What a creative bunch. We have 19 participants so far with 67 papers, 43 embellishments, 6 tags, 17 frames, 32 ribbons and bows, and 9 word arts. These of course are added up as individual pages. I have not counted preview pages so if you downloaded those you could have a different count than mine.

Ah, so the problem with uploading wasn't necessarily with Viovio. Whew! :)
Yes it would be nice if folks would let us know when they have added more stuff - I'm guilty of forgetting to do that too.
I'll go look for the "lace paper" I didn't see it last night or I would have tried to delete it. Is it possibly a psd file? That would explain why it locks up the computer.

Well I have "limited admin" controls for that gallery - i.e. technically its one of my galleries and the folks at Viovio allow it to be a shared gallery (I think it might be the only one of its type - maybe we are beta testers and they just don't know it yet...LOL). So I just selected it as a batch command and deleted it that way. Don't know if that would work for you in the shared gallery or not, but it will work in your personal gallery.

The attached shows My Wife, Patti, wearing a T-shirt she got from her doctor's office after her periodic "woman's" checkup. She agreed to my taking the pictures and posting. I put it on this particular forum because of the wonderful and important intentions of the challenge you all are working on. Thanks, Jane! Can I post some things Jennie, my 12yo daughter made for the kit too?
I have no idea what a kit like this costs. Is $10 too much? Too little?
aa6660
October 11th, 2007, 02:42 PM
I've seen small kits go for around $5-10, individual papers go for .50 each, and sets of embellishments (normally 6 of the same thing, just different colors or patterns) go for around $3.00.
I think we want it to cost enough so that we can donate more, but we want to be low enough so that people want to buy it.
I found one charity kit and it had for $10.00
62 Papers
Over 100 elements (including stickers, tags, word art, frames, ribbons, beads, charms and more!)
5 Alphas
There was also an add on kit for $5.00.
24 Papers
Almost 100 elements (including stickers, tags, frames, ribbons, word art and more!)
11 quotations
If you go to this site: http://www.oscraps.com/shop/home.php?cat=259&sort=price&sort_direction=1, you will see a few kits for BCA as well. They are divided up a bit. I wonder if it might actually be better to sort of split up the collection...

Hi guys. Sorry to desert you, but we sold our home and everything is moving so fast. I haven't had much extra time.
Everything looks so lovely. You've all done an extraordinary job. http://bestsmileys.com/clapping/2.gif
AngelicKim, I've got to go get that alpha. I love it!
I think 10.00 sounds good and maybe pick a few items for an add-on for a few dollars more.
I know many of us belong to other forums. We should all put the word out on those forums and, maybe, contact a couple of the ladies that have blogs with freebie lists.
I know I didn't contribute much this time, but I'm so proud to be a part of this with all of you. :)

Allison, we must have been on the same thought wave. I was just about to post the same thing. I did notice you have in the papers one of Judy's preview sample pages. It could be made into a quick page or used as a paper though.
I am about to upload some colored cross stitches. I think I did 4 of them.
Edit: they are now uploaded, I goofed and uploaded the wrong ones but the right ones are now there.

Based on my quick calculations (and I could be counting some items differently than others), this is what I come up with:
79 papers
69 embellishments
7 tags
27 frames
45 ribbons & bows
9 word arts
2 alpha sets

So awesome that you have put together a composite - please do hang on to it! I knew we were going to need one, and I was trying to figure out when I would have the time to do it. Hmmm... looks like the only area we are a little light in is tags, time to get creative! ;)
I think $10 would be a steal of deal - should have folks beating down our doors! :D

Jane, I just emailed you the document I was using to combine all the pics. Each pic is selectable and the order can be changed. If nothing else, perhaps a good place to copy and paste from. These are not the high quality pictures, because I didn't want someone to be able to do the who right click save as thing without buying the kit or contributing to it.

Thanks Kathy,
I scanned the bookmark itself, made a pattern from it which I used as fill and then colourized. The needlework of the original bookmark was done in white thread so the pattern turned out grey - I wanted to leave it an off-white but couldn't figure out how. In fact, I didn't even know what to do with the scan once I had it, being the first time! Painfully long process when you are a newbe at this.
The pink embroidery I selected off the original scan and pasted it on my replica bookmark.
The journal is Wendy's tutorial all the way. These challenges are a great way to learn and try something new aren't they. :)

I'm sure your's is much more accurate. When I was arranging the images into composites, I was working in WORD with 6 pages showing at a time. Let me tell you, that makes the images very, very tiny. Also, I wasn't quite sure how to address the "ribbon" that wasn't a real ribbon in the sense that it is normally used.
JANE - Glad that worked out for you. I went ahead and converted it to Word 2003 before I sent it, but if you have 2007 and think that might be better, I can send that version to you as well. And, like I said, I just arranged them in word and then used MWSnap to take their picture. If any of you have never used that program or one similar, it is so awesome. It allows you to copy anything on your screen - you draw the box. I have it from when I used to be addicted to Africam (Camera at a watering hole in Africa). I have so many amazing shots of elephants, lions, hippos, etc. that I took real time while the live feed was playing.

I agree with Kim Gail, The wordart are is great as is the entire piece, i would love that word art.
Judy, I used the"Nottingham" font. I don't remember which of the myriad of font links I got it from.
Jane, She got in Corvallis. Actually she bought it, the proceeds go to the breast cancer research.
I think i'm freeing up some time on Sat and Sun. I should be able to get at least the 4 submittals we need.
Very, very great work folks.

Allison, it has been so long since I have used MS Word for anything other than typing a letter I would be lost trying to do anything in it now. Your way is probably alot easier and faster than mine though. I put all the ribbons except the one with the pin in it in the Ribbons and Bows folder. Anything that wasn't on its own page I counted as one for now. For the final count I will count them all individually so we know how many total items there are.
Gail, you really should include the word art from the picture in your submission.

It's just a small free program. I love it.
The quality of the picture will be determined by the quality of what you are viewing. Here are some examples of what I just snapped of Africam. It momentarily freezes the camera when you activate it so that you can get a nice still shot.
Here is one that I took at the image size that it was in the websites player (about 4x3).

Mary, I see what you are saying. You are talking about the composite preview Allison posted a few pages back. It is there, it is just small. I copied the one it is on and circled below. I do have your frame as well in my downloads so not to worry, it will be in the zip files for the final kit. You have done some great stuff on this and the last. Hard to believe you are a beginner.

Now, after the orange thing for upload finishes...it switches to a little green set of bars saying "waiting for upload to begin" and it just keeps on running, and running.
Went back to check and 3 items were there mixed in with the "a's" a couple of others mentioned upload thumb in progress....

Michelle, I kept getting that hanging on the upload yesterday several times. I ended up having to re-upload those items. I haven't been asked for the password of a couple of days now. I usually get asked it whenever I haven't been on the site recently. As for the thumbnail loading, yesterday I got that and clicked on it and it opened fine and when I hit the back button the thumb was there. Your thumbs for what has uploaded are there. I just downloaded 3 frames, 3 borders and the star corner. That is all that has uploaded for you so far.

Once I "get' the linky part (just don't mean the real link, but understand how to order) of how someone buys this kit, I plan to send it to all I know who scrapbook, whether they dabble in digi, or...are die-hard paper people....
There is certainly something available for every scrapper out there.

Thank you Janice, I can't believe how much I have learned by participating in these past two scrap challenges. I have always been afraid and intimidated to try before. I am learning more in PSE and now don't feel quite so threaten to try things. I hope to put together a scrap book for my three granddaughters ages 19, 17 and 12. Hope to retire soon and I plan to spend all my time learning more about PSE and scrap booking.
Absolutely Love all of your contributions, just beautiful.

That is the whole purpose of the challenges - to help us step out of our comfort zones and try new things! I really enjoy watching folks learn and progress (must be the teacher in me, :)) and I of course like to look back at my own work and see the progress I've made.
I feel a little bad for my daughter, the layouts in her baby book probably won't be as nice as the ones in her little brothers book. But I doubt I will have as many pages for his book, since I don't have the luxury of only chasing and shooting one kid. :D

I want to thank you again for these wonderful challenges. It was your Sept. challenge that made me decide to finally try something in PSE. I just wanted to be a part of it so badly.
I love the learning experience.
I just looked at you digiscrap site, Wow - good for you. Where ever do you find the time?
It can take me days to accomplish one item. I know I am now addicted, my husband cannot believe how much time I spend on the computer with this. I know that if I did not work, I would totally lose myself learning and creating.

Mary - last challenge I finally learned how to make a decent bow and ribbon. I would've never persevered if I hadn't wanted to contribute something more than background papers.
PSE is a tough program to learn, but once you get into your comfort zone with it - and start trying new things - there is no holding you back. I suggested you try clicking on every option in a tool - you'll be fascinated with what you'll find. I spent the first 6 months doing the basics, it wasn't until I tried all the different "buttons" that I learned the power of PSE.
Sorry to hear work gets in the way. LOL

Thanks Kim, I've been so busy with work and family that I did wonder myself
Lucky for me creating is my number 1 way to relax so I put in a bit of time each evening and did lots of playing and experimenting :-)

Pat, thanks for your encouragement. No, I'm not a designer; since I'm retired I just have more time to play. Everyone has done an outstanding job and I'm proud to be able to be a little part of it. My mother and aunt had breast cancer many years ago and I'm glad I have the chance to be a part of this effort.

I finally got some time to put something together. This is such a meaningful cause, that I really wanted to contribute. It was fun. enjoy. I continue to be in awe of what you folks are doing with this. I, in fact, am not a scrapper. I do enjoy puting collages/montages together and experimenting around with different PSE things. I've got two major PSE projects coming up between now and Christmas that are going to eat up some time and computer memory. Some, I will share on the Forum.

Good stuff you created for the kit. Now reading what you wrote above is the first step into entering the dark side of scrapping:D

I uploaded 4 items to the gallery last night. I have two papers to upload yet, but I want to change the file extensions from png to jpg. I'll try to get that done today.
Thanks to all who put the effort into arranging this challenge and to all who have submitted their creations. The gallery is full of wonderful work!
It's been especially helpful to me to work on this project because my husband started his chemotherapy treatments just last week. He was diagnosed and had surgery in August for rectal cancer. It was good to have something to work on that was related to what's going on in our lives yet a little separate too.
Funny sideline story relative to all these pink ribbons fluttering around...my husband said one day just before his surgery, "I saw a car with pink ribbons on it." I told him those are for breast cancer awareness. He responded with, "I know that, but I was thinking...if breast cancer has a pink ribbon and I have rectal cancer...is my ribbon brown?" It was good for a laugh to ease our tension a little. And he laughed again when he awoke in his hospital room after surgery to find one of our daughters had pinned little brown velvet ribbons all over his hospital gown.

Lorrie, how funny:D, I have taken a mental picture of his gown with all those brown ribbons and your are so right; laughter does help. Thanks for sharing this.

What a great sideline story! They say laughter is the best medicine.
Keep positive and I hope all goes well for you, your husband and your family.

Gail - always so good to have a mans perspective, and maybe it is good you aren't a scrapper (pst we won't tell anyone that you really are :D) as your submissions are always so creatively outside the box!
Lorri - what a great story about your hubby! May he be blessed with a speedy recovery.

Lorri, great little story. I too can picture your DH laying in bed covered in the ribbons.

I was doing a search for cancer quotes to so another word art and did this one because it sounded familiar. After doing it I realized it is the one Gail had on the picture of his wife he posted a few days ago that Judy and I liked so well. I have just uploaded it to the gallery.

I've just finished uploading all my bits to the gallery :D
I also added a photo grid, I've seen some like it before so it might be useful to someone.
Everything in the gallery is so awesome, well done everyone. You are all a great bunch and it's fantastic that we are doing this for charity.
I want to download but I think I'll hold off and buy the kit when it's all up :)

Girlfriends,
Hope you don't mind me calling you girlfriends but thats who we are when we scrap together:).
I am so amazed at all the contributions. I know like myself many have said they are new to this but this is just outstanding work. I have decided to quit downloading as there are so many more wonderful things since my last download and just go and buy the kit. At least I won't miss anything that way.
Fabulous work!!!!

Well I don't know for sure what Gail would think about being included as a "girlfiend" but I can tell you he is big teddy bear of a guy and I bet he would take it as a compliment. ;)
Vesta - you make a good point! If you purchase the kit then you will get it in a few zip files, as opposed to doing it one piece at a time. Besides saving you time, you know ALL the money is going to a good cause! :)

The "Scraps of Pink" kit is fabulous. All the contributors have done a fantastic job in creating and designing the kit.
Have you decided on the price yet? $9.99 to $14.99 is a bargain for all the beautiful papers and embellishments.
Also, when will the kit be offered for sale? I will be purchasing the kit when it becomes available.

Hi Grace, it has been fun doing this kit for such a good cause. I think the price is going to be $10, a real bargain. There may be an add on too. I am not sure it has been fully decided yet. If it has been, I missed a post somewhere. The last day for uploading is tomorrow so I am sure Jane will announce when it is ready in this thread and probably start a thread for it.
Vesta, purchasing and getting the kit is a great idea. JoJo said the same thing. Since I have it all downloaded to do the zip files I am going to make a donation in the name of the PET Design Team.

I don't think we came to any conculsions other than $10 for the kit. Since Viovio isn't really set up to sell kits (or zip files) and is having to write code especially for this project it would be easier for them I'm sure if there was only one item.

It is a thing of beauty! I am hopefull of having the kit ready for sale by the 17th or 18th at the latest, since I will be out the 19th for a medical procedure.

Jane, I will get all the files zipped first thing on the 16th. Is there a max file size for each zipped folder to send to VioVio. Should I e-mail them to you or upload to SendSpace or some site like that? Let me know so I can get started on previews for each zipped folder.

Kim - I'll email you the technical aspects when I found out what will work best for Viovio. I'll also send you the Terms of Use and let you fill in the names of all participants.
Folks please have any last minute contributions uploaded by 5pm Pacific - (8pm Eastern) tonight, so that we can get everything zipped.
Once we have the details on the sales part of the kit - then we have permission to start a thread in the main section advertising our work for charity.

Jane, that is great that PET will you post a thread to advertise the kit. That is why I wasn't sure in my post to Grace about it.
Judy, Jane deserve the appreciation here as she has done such an awesome job organizing and handling all of this. I am only zipping the files for her. Actually the appreciation goes to everyone who has contributed and to the people who are going to purchase the kit for just a great cause. I am so happy to be part of it.
OUTSTANDING JOB EVERYONE. You all should be proud of your incredible creativity and kindness.

Yes - thanks to everyone that has contributed! You should all be proud of your creativity!!
Now to the marketing of this kit. If you frequent other scrap websites, scrap blogs etc... please pm the admin for those sites and explain to them about the kit and ask if they would be willing to allow you to announce the kit when it is ready for sale.
Please post your responses back here, so that we aren't duplicating our efforts or flooding sites with requests.
