View Full Version : PSE-6 Pricing

I note that the PET Subscriber page has a link to "GET $20 OFF" PSE6. When you click the link, you're taken to Adobe's page with the upgrader's pricing of $79.99... which is nothing special, because if you go directly to Adobe's home page and click through to purchase PSE6, you end up on exactly the same offer.
If you go to Amazon.com, you can buy PSE6 for $89.99, and get a $20 rebate, so the net price is $69.99. And if you don't absolutely have to have it in a day or two, you can get free shipping from them so the whole cost ends up being $69.99. (Amazon never charges me sales tax, either!)
Has anyone else seen any better deals?
I'm not convinced that I need v6, so at minimum I would likely wait for the Thanksgiving sales before I buy... IF I buy.

campustech.com has it for $64.85 if you can verify that one of the users will be teacher, student or staff of appropriate schools. They also have PS CS3 Extended for $289 for those who might qualify and who missed the $299 special in September...

When I have bought in the past I waited to see the specials from Stores like Staples , Best Buy or Circuit City etc. I had PSE-3 got PSE-4 for around $30 with instant savings and rebates and PSE-5 for $50 from Staples. Wait it out and you can get a good deal. The prices I paid may have been even cheaper but my memory bank fails me once in a while.

You are lucky you're not having to purchase in the UK where Amazon are charging £69.98 which converts to $142. Retailers don't call us "Treasure Island" for nothing!

Tom,
you're right and the most annoying part is Adobe do not give us Brits the discounts you get in the States.
I believe the latest full Photoshop has had a price increase of £100 making it over £800.

However, I went along and downloaded it this morning. I'm a sucker for the latest versions. I have a friend who runs everything two versions back and picks them up for next to nothing on ebay. At least I can sell my boxed version 5 there (now don't tell me Adobe won't let me!).
