Last March our granddaughter [DGD] turned 16. For a gift we bought her a mid level Canon digital camera. In the last 6 months she's taken her camera every place she gone and has taken hundreds, if not thousands of pictures.
The other day my son came over with his family. My DGD saw the montages I've made, framed and have hanging on our walls. I asked her if she'd like to learn how to do that type of thing [and much more] with her pictures. When she started jumping up and down and hugging me, I told her I'd buy PSE6 for her as soon as it was in the stores.
Yesterday I was in Costco to see if they had it yet [they didn't]. But they said it would be in the stores on Friday. They said it was going to be $79.
I'll pick up two copies tomorrow--one for DGD and one for me.
Russ
PS: I'll also get her a subscription so she can see the videos, etc. I can't wait to see the wonderful things she'll make with PSE6.

I better not have any.
The kids will be home this weekend..I'll grill 'em.:D
To tell the truth, I love getting subscriptions as presents. Any kind, websites, magazines (maybe not Teen Beat) or even memberships to conservation areas and such.
I was just giving Russ a suggestion as kids these days are tough to buy for.;)

Russ,
what a wonderful gift!
Now, if you would like to adopt an old wrinkly from the UK and give him the same gift, well; I'll even call you Gramps:D:D

A signed, 8x10 glossy, of said photographer would be a gift to cherish.:)

Don't kids take such wonderful pictures? They just shoot what they want and all their friends seem to ham it up and have a ball.:)

The subscription for a Christmas gift is a great idea. However, we always buy the grandkids wetsuits for Christmas and surfboards for their birthdays. Yes, we do spoil them. On the other hand, we're only spending our kids and/or grandkids inheritance.
Our DGD's surfboard was still in great shape last March so we got her a camera instead. DGD has outgrown the wetsuit we gave her last Christmas so it's either a new suit or she stops surfing until spring, when the ocean warms up again. I've been surfing for over 50 years, IMHO, taking 6 months off is unacceptable.

PS: Just in case anyone's wondering what DGD is short for: it's short for Darling Granddaughter.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.
I can't wait to see her pictures and the things she'll do to them with PSE6.
Hopefully Costco will have PSE6 in their stores today, as promised. I will go by there this afternoon to pick up 2 copies, one for me and one for DGD.
After I get the copies, I'll go to my DGD's house and give it to her. After we load it on their PC I'll get her a subscription so she can do all the wonderful things that we can do with a subscription.
