I currently use Pinnacle Studio Plus 10 but am thinking of switching to Premiere Elements. Has anyone used Pinnacle that could let me know the advantages of Premiere?
Thanks

Up front, I have never used Pinnacle Studio Plus 10, only Premiere Elements 2. I am not sure how much of a response you will get here, but I am going to offer some comments for your consideration.
If you have used Pinnacle Studio Plus 10 you know about it. Does it have the poor performance issues frequently referred to? Why not check out the features of Premiere Elements. The latest version which just was released is version 4. You may be able to get a good buy on version 3 while they are still around. Be sure to do your homework on System Requirements and features that you need for your workflow.
Check out the Premiere Elements 4 videos in the Learning Center of this web site as well as what (problems/solutions) goes into the Forum here and other places. Other resources include:
Premiere Elements User to User Forum at http://www.adobe.com (currently hard to get into with forum re-doing in progress).
Grisetti/Engels site http://www.muvipix.com
I believe a great advantage with Premiere Elements is Resource Availability for lst, 2nd, ...opinions when troubleshooting. No program is trouble free and without some sort of learning curve.
I did a quick search for reviews with comparison of the programs. One that caught my attention was Comparison of Premiere Elements 2 and Pinnacle Studio Plus 10,
User Comments
Premiere Elements 2, 5.6 Average
Pinnacle Studio Plus 10, 1.9 Abysmal
And, that was Premiere Elements 2 not later version 3 or latest 4.
Bottom line: Check System Requirements and features needed (only you know which) and decide what works for you. There is a 30 day tryout available from Adobe if you think that it is worth it. I am not sure what tryout versions are now being offered by Adobe, with the last release being so current.

Thanks for the info and the link to muvipix.com! I think I found a trial download for Premiere Elements 3.0. I will try that and see how it runs and then purchase 4.0 if I like it. I like the fact that Elements and Premier would be integrated unlike with Pinnacle.
Thanks again,
Elise

After you download the Premiere Elements 3 tryout from Adobe, be sure to download and install the Premiere Elements 3.0.2 update also from Adobe.

There are some features in Studio 10 Plus that are a easier and nicer to use than Premiere Elements. And there are some features in Premiere Elements that are better than Studio 10 Plus.
However the selling feature for Premiere Elements is quality of the DVD export video. I used the same capture footage to create a 2 hour DVD. The two products don't even come close.
The Premier Elements DVD quality was excellent while the Studio 10 Plus DVD quality was very poor .
Forget Studio 10 and buy Premiere Elements now, I did.
