Hi - Im BRAND new to Elements and DL'd 6.0 today!

I submitted tis in the General forum butthought it might be better suited in the advanced section so here it is again!

I have one very important task! I need to create a banner type image to go on the top of a new web site. It will have 4 images of a child from left to right with these images kind of fading into the main image. Here is a link to an example at the top of this page. The yellow ribbon running across the image is a nice touch but not neccesary. Here is a link to see the effect I need to learn. It's the long picture at the top of the page.

Can anyone tell me how to fade photos together like this???

THANKs Much - Melvin

Hi Melvin ...

There are actaully several ways to do this ...

You can place the photographs together on the banner and then choose he eraser at a low opacity and gentle erase away the edges ..

Or for a more flexible approach install an addon which has a layer mask and do a similar thing using that. (There is a tutorial in the Subscriber Areas>Tutorials showing how to do this using a gradient on the mask)

Draw a shape around the image ... feather it then invert the selection and delete the excess.
