When I view the metadata in the browser in PSE5, there is a section that has intrigued me. But I dont know how to use it. Its the 'edit history'. I click on the arrow to expand it, but there is nothing there.
So... how do I make that work, and how do I save the edits that I have made to the photos? Or can I? I know when I work with layers, save the file, then come back later and open it, the layers are there. Maybe I'm just looking too far, or something.
Overall, Im just confused.

The History in the Properties window - which is what I assume you mean - is only a summary of what you've done with the image. E.g Imported it, Edited it, Emailed it to someone etc.
This is different to the History in the Editor which shows you the steps you have taken when Editing the image. However, as soon as you save the image the History is cleared.

Well, I am talking about the orgainzer. But not the history. In the "properties" pane, there are four buttons. One is labeled metadata that displays all of the information about the photo, time, flash, white balance, ISO, etc.
Well, scrolling down in that pane, I find a sub tab (I dont know if that is the right terminology) that says "edit history". I click on it and there is nothing below it (as there is in the other sub tabs). It doenst matter what type of file I am looking at. RAW, highly edited TIFF, JPEG, whatever.
I just dont understand what that is for and why it is there. There is also a GPS tab that baffles me, but that might just have to be for another post.
