Have any of you tried scrapping mini books? I decided to give it a try as a gift for the grandparents and my sister. They are definately small enough to carry around in a purse. And I can get a pack of four 20 page books for a total of $10 at my favorite place. (Yeah, I'm cheap! )

It is definately a challenge to create pages in 4 x 2.75 (finished size is 3.75x 2.5) When you leave that 1/4" for trim it is tight! I'd apprecate any advice from those that have tried it.

Mostly I've been putting a single picture on one side with a quote or journaling on the other page. Like this:

I have never tried them but I agree it sure would be a challenge to do a layout that small. I like your idea of doing the journalling on one side and the photo on the other. Care to share where you found yours?

I've always been interested in mini books. I love the quote you used. This is a great site to keep an eye on. The videos work great and fun ideas. This weeks look like a mini book idea, and I know there are others there from the past.

Viovio.com has three different sizes (http://www.viovio.com/wiki/Mini+Photo+Books) I chose the smallest one. Glutten for punishment I guess. :)

Definately a case where I work with "print size", instead of "fit page". Helps me keep it in perspective.

Here is another two page layout. Of course I will have to cut them apart and save each page as it's own jpeg file before uploading them.

Your 2 mini pages look great Jane, wonderful idea.
I agree it would be more of challenge working with the limited space but judging by your results, well worth it :-)

Great pages and idea Jane. I did the 4x4 mini book from Shutterfly. It worked out great. I did an 8x8 book of the Wedding book for friends last year. As a little extra for her I got the mini book to carry in her purse to share with friends. She loves it and still carries it. I also paid the little extra for the leather case to protect it. The size you are working on has got to be difficult.

Do you know about the little books from Zoom Album? They are 12 pages and are printed at home on one sheet of photo paper. You put the book together yourself. They are really fun. I have done several of trips that we have made.

Sounds interesting Peg. But I'm already up to 36 pages!

...little books from Zoom Album?...Peg,

I have come within an inch of buying a Zoom Album, but was too skeptical, in the end.

Can you say whether they are sturdy enough to last for a while, or if they are more of a novelty? Did you get the hard cover for yours?

In any case, I think they are an extremely clever idea. I wish I sold them!

The mini-album especially as grandparent brag books are such a good idea. I like when there is a quote or journaling on one page - a photo on the other.

In prehistoric times - prior to digi-scrapping - 2004 - I made a 4x6 mini album of our family cruise for my FIL . I labeled everything and did mini-collages - and he was thrilled. Carried it around for quite a long while.

I'm sorry now that I didn't do a duplicate for myself. DUH.
