blending

When I stamp an image into my pic it is very noticible that I have altered the pic, so how do I blend in this stamp image?
Also the background and foreground colors how do I get them to revert back to default black and white. I am using OSX.

One of the ways I like is to apply a slight feathering to the image I cut out. The amount of feather depends on the size of your image.

To get your colours back to the default just press D and to reverse the black & white just press the little arrows above the two boxes.

If the colors are other than black and white, type the D key and they will change back to default b & w.
