Thank you so much, Jodi! That's a real compliment, coming from YOU! I use your colored drop shadows, etc., often. I appreciate your talent and skill so much!

Had lots of hummingbirds last year--sometimes 9 around the feeder at once. But only 4 or 5 hung around this summer, so this was my best shot this summer. Last summer, getting a pic of 1 by itself was starting to get boring and I loved the action shots of 2 together. But this summer I had to be satisfied with "portraits" of one at a time.

I don't "talk" much, but appreciate all the instruction that you and the others are so generous to share.

Saw your doves pic, we have about 8 that hang at our feeder. I tried to sneak out here the other day with the camera but they got flustered & flew off. Next time!!!

Loved your Gallery. Wonderful Bird shots. You must have a very fast shutter speed to stop those little hummer wings.

Yes, Dorrie, I've pretty much taught myself. Have the Canon Rebel XT and bump the ISO up to 1600, as they are sometimes in low light. Very uncooperative little guys! It's sort of like fishin', isn't it?--this trying to get a great shot of something, whether it's birds or grandchildren!

And Sherry, those doves are sure skittery birds, aren't they? Ours fly away at the slightest motion. But if you sit there long enough a different one will come along and not even see you.

P.S. Love your creations, Dorrie, and your "jazzy' pics, Sherry. The jazz pics seem so happy!

Betty, you are doing really really well ! I'd die to get a hummer shot like that ! I haven't see 'any' of these all summer :( I guess either I was too buzy doing other things and not enough free time to notice or I planted the wrong flowers this year.
