I'm embarassed to ask this, but it's driving me nuts.
I take pictures with my Rebel XT at the highest resolution. I upload them to my PC using a card reader. When I open any one of them in the Elements Editor, the properties show the photo at 72 dpi.
Why is this?

What I've been doing to get around it is; I open a new blank file, set the dpi that I want and then drop the photo onto it. That seems to work OK.

What am I missin??

thanks, Rick :?

Rick,

You aren't missing anything, but I would change how you are resizing the images...

72ppi is the default setting for many digital camera images. How to resize these images without losing quality is one of the on-line lessons by Scott Kelby...

Basically what you do is go to Image > Resize > Image Size. Uncheck the "Resample Image". Now you can change the resolution which will adjust the image size.

Hope this helps.
