What wonderful entries we already have! Congratulations to everyone for the great ideas!! :)

Many thanks for your kind words on the photo, too - it's a serene place by the sea, ideal for taking a relaxing walk and clearing your mind...

* Norma: I love how the black border brings out the light colours of the fountain, contrasting with the white of the water.
* Rusty: Your crop reminds me of an art poster. Very nice work with the filters, too!
* Lisa: The frames and colours guide the eye to focus on the central image, while creating an impression of amplitude. I love the ink drawing/aquarelle colouring effect!
* Bamagirl: The texture combined to the frame makes the image look like painted on stone, while the choice of text adds a solemn note - and there is in fact a beautiful church on the other side of the road (in our culture, the religious element is very much connected to the presence of water)... Very good job.
* Suzanne: LOL!! Great idea of using an element of the picture that wasn't too obvious. A very clever intervention!
* Bill: Perfect idea of recreating the Greek flag by combining the Athens pic with the Thessaloniki map! I live in Athens (I think Panos is near Thessaloniki) but Thessaloniki is considered as our second capital city. A very original composition!
* Zeria: I like how the fountain breaks out of the frame. The lettering and black border create a lovely postcard effect.

Maria,
thanks for a lovely crop photo and your lovely comments and analysis for everyone's ideas - it's beautiful the analysis, it reads like an art appreciation :) :)

Lisa, thank you for your very kind words! :o :)

It's a pleasure to see how many different interpreations a photo can inspire - and to be honest, I was a little hesitant about this particular pic, because it doesn't offer too many different options for cropping...

But I was amazed by the varied ways in which the exact same thing was seen and interpreted... Awesome work everyone!

* Toni: Very nice work on the frame, it gives the image more depth and accentuates the green and shades of blue in the photo. I liked the lettering and text, too - it illustrates exactly the coexistence of the human-made fountain with the natural expanse of the sea.

Maria :)
