I've been seeing onOne Essentials for Photoshop Elements in the Elements magazine and am wondering if anybody has purchased it and if it is all that it is cracked up to be.
The two features that interest me the most are:
1. Enlarge a photo up to 400% without loss of quality
2. Lots of frames and borders

I have so many old old pictures (I'm talking about from the 20's) some as small as 1" x 1" and want to enlarge them to 4x6 for my photo collection. I've tried cropping them at 4x6 and there is a loss of quality, and as old as these pictures are, I want to be able to preserve them for my grandchildren.

I asked about this on the beginner forum, but only a couple of people had used it, but it's hard to make a decision on such limited information.

Any help is appreciated because $59 is kind of high for my budget at this time, but it would be worth it if it works. Any help will be appreciated.
TIA
Barbara

Hi Barbara,After trying all the 30 day try outs forOn line products.I thought i would splash out for the Elements edition.I have 5.0.To date the part I use the most is the Cut it out feature.Which in my opinion works just great.especially when changing skys.It cuts round leave so easily. It compares colours and not edges so dropping the colours you tell it and keeping what you want.works just great. The frame portion gives you 400 variant with lots of manipulation options.I have nt really looked at the enlargment feature, but the demos they show of it on their web site look interesting.I use it as another tool to make P.E.5.0 more versatile especially the selection part of it.Hope this helps.....Dave.

OK Here we go again.

1. I cannot find a demo for this product

2. This must me some sort of crippleware or old outdated or outdated versions

Check the prices, the demos and videos are for the "pro" products and are much more expensive.

So the final question what don't you get in this version that you do in the pro version?

I was looking at the site.. you really have to do some sleuthing.

After reading SOME of the descriptions it looks as though The elements version has a limited feature set. You would have to read each products description to find the differences.

Just two that I picked up right away.
Frames/edges.. elements has over 500 pro has over 4000
Genuine Fractals elements up to 4x .. pro 10x? (oops can't remember now but way bigger than elements)

Very cumbersome to find the info .. a chart would be great.
