WMV Rendering Is Horrible, What Am I Doing Wrong?

I am getting horrible results when I render my projects in .wmv, my main video source is very HQ .avi I shot and is about DVD quality and I pre-render all projects but hitting enter and everything is fine, but when I render in .wmv in any size it looks horrible anyone have any solutions??

The other formats including .flv flash come out fine and even low quality mpegs are ok and mpeg-2 is great DVD quality but I need multiple versions or my video content for various purposes.

I also tried to take a mpeg-2 and import it into windows movie maker which makes great hi and low quality .wmv's, but got and error, which I have never seen.

Suggestions?

About your last mentioned issue...mpeg2 import into Windows Movie Maker...I am not sure if you were using:
Export/MPEG/
Multimedia Compatible 320 x 240 MPEG2 OR some other route to MPEG2 in the MPEG Export options.

Nonetheless, your issue is confirmed as a file type NOT supported by Windows Movie Maker. Take a look at the following link:

haha Thanx! I exported a file as a movie in .avi and put it into wmm and it comes out perfect!

Also, if I am filming different scenes to be made into a dvd later should i save them as .avi movies for final DVD??
