Opening Photoshop Elements 3

I just changed my preferences to open Photoshop Elements 3 in catalog because I was having trouble getting the catalog to work, now when I try to open Photoshop Elements, the catalog tries to open, and nothing else happens. I have reinstalled twice to repair, but don't want to uninstall and lose my plugins and extras etc. HELP! :?

Hi,

Do you mean you changed the settings in the Welcome Screen so that PSE3 opens in Organizer?

Can you open Organizer ok? If so you can repair the Catalog by going to File > Catalog and click the Recover button.

It brings up the window for the organizer, but the file doesn't work, so I have no access to "file". What should I do?

OK... let's try the first troubleshooting step which is to reset the preferences file. Close Elements down and restart the program, straightaway hold down the CTRL, ALT and SHIFT keys together.

Keep holding these keys until a windows comes up asking if you want to delete Settings, select Yes.
