Do you guys use the eraser tip of the pen or just click on the eraser tool with the normal pen nib? I ask because I find when I turn the pen around to use the eraser on the end that the brush size is fixed, meaning you can't change the brush size unless you click on the eraser tool anyway.
I imagined you would just resize the brush with the bracket keys but unless the eraser tool is selected it doesnt work, because of this I resort to selecting the eraser tool with the standard nib each time I need to erase.
It seems to make the eraser tip a bit redundant, or am I missing something?

Spyder -- the advantage of choosing the eraser tool is it is pressure sensitive and erases at varying degrees of opacity. The only time I tried the eraser end of the pen was in Word.

Spyder, I too have found that I usually end up using the eraser tool rather than the pen, unless it's just a small area.

for me it depends on what tool I am using....and the program

Ok it sounds like I'm doing it right then, I just thought the eraser tip would have the same functionality, pity. I wonder if I can programme it so when I change to the eraser tip it selects the eraser tool automatically, back to the bat cave....!

Spyder,

What tablet do you have? In Tablet Properties of the Intuos, you can set it for specific application. I haven't tried that yet myself, something to do later.

Ok that works, the problem was everytime I touched the pad it cycled through the eraser/background eraser and magic eraser tools, the Shift E command being sent each time. I got around that by adding just the E as a keystroke to be sent and now I just press Shift on the keyboard and touch the pad to have the eraser tip call up the eraser tool and have full control over it. Yay!

Hi Virgo, I must have posted my last message a fraction after you finished yours.
First time I've used the key commands in the properties, never thought I would ever have to use them till now. I also set my buttons on the pen to resize the brush on the fly too. very nifty! Thumb down sends a Left bracket and thumb up sends the Right bracket command respectively.

After having my tablet for a while I think that I need to reset a few things too. I currently have the right alt and space set for brush size and that really is a pain since I'm right handed and always have to cross over. I don't use the touch strip for zooming in and out because I found it finicky and didn't always work. Maybe I should set up the left one for my brush scroll. It would certainly make more sense. At the same time, think I'll check into resetting my eraser tool. Sounds like a much better option that you have found.
