Great pages Jane and Janice. Here is my first one. I used Reka's alpha (boy did that take forever) and 4 of the brass embellishments, Janice's football background edged around my yardlines ribbon made into a frame made and one of my own backgrounds.

The last game is the 17th of October. I will be rushing to do a final page and get it uploaded that night in hopes of having it back in time for banquet. They haven't decided yet if is the 25th of October or the 1st of November. I am obviously hoping for Nov. 1.

Here is yet another. This time its not football, wanted to do something different. One background, corners and ribbon (to make frames) from Kathy. One background from Grammom and Sarah. Tag from Reka. I may make some changes to this one. I definately need to rescan and change Mom's photo.

Wow ... it is really neat to see actual layouts ! So interesting to see how different parts are used to create such great layouts. Wonderful job to all. :)
Kim ...... your last layout ...... what a great idea to use the ribbon to border the photos .... I would never had thought of that. One small point ....... the photo corners ..... the light direction is not consistent ....... I am kinda anal about lighting directions ... ergo the four corners provided. That aside .... I feel very honoured that you chose some of my creations. I love that paper from Grammom. The combination gives a real vintage feel to the layout which suits the photos perfectly.

Thanks Kathy, I did seem to use alot of your elements in all three. I didn't look at the corners that closely. I will go back and use all four instead of just copying and rotating the one, thanks for pointing that out. I did think, why did she make 4 when you can just rotate one. DUH.

Great pages Jane and Janice. Here is my first one. I used Reka's alpha (boy did that take forever) and 4 of the brass embellishments, Janice's football background edged around my yardlines ribbon made into a frame made and one of my own backgrounds.
Wow, that looks nice, Kim! Did I do something wrong to make it take so long???
AngelicKim
September 16th, 2007, 11:32 AM
Reka, you did nothing wrong. It just seemed like it took forever to select each individual letter and put on the new background and then arrange them in the right places. A few letters were just duplicated but I ended up with 26 seperate layers of letters to organize and then combine by words for placement. I love the football alphas. My son thought they were awesome.

When using alphabets - the longer the saying - the longer it takes to get it perfect - that's the way it is with all alphabets.
That's why sometimes you'll see only one letter from the alphabet at the beginning and a coordinating font as the rest of the saying.
And there's always the jumbled look to avoid precision placement - that looks cool, too.

Here is my go at a page with all the wonderful elements that everyone has made. My page is slightly overloaded but I wanted to use as many elements as possible.
**Also when posting a page everyone seems to be able to post a thumbnail version that can be clicked on to open a larger version. What method of picture posting is being used? I don’t use Pixentral, I have my own FTP. I’m wondering if that is the cause. I post my pictures by the “insert pic” option but there is never a thumbnail just the pic, so I always have to size it way down. This time I just used a link as the picture is big and needs to be viewed that way. I hope that’s ok. Any tips regarding above would be much appreciated. I am still very new to this. This is the first forum I have actively participated in.
Many thanks!

Good tip Janice. When making my apple layout I wanted two different text types for variation. I added another word to achieve that effect but next time I'm going to try that technique. Just use one alpha and then regular text for the rest of the word.
AngelicKim
September 16th, 2007, 05:33 PM
ShellB, great layout for the images.
When you use Pixentral to upload photos it gives you two options for sharing the image. One is just a link and the second it a thumbnail link.

Here is one of my layouts with our kit. I am not very good with words so if anyone has any better suggestions for a title or a phrase, I would be very open to any ideas. We were at the fair and I love seeing all the fancy chickens. Sometimes I wish we lived in the country so we could have some. I love all the wonderful items submitted for the kit. They will keep me busy for a long time. Thank you so much!

Nice layout Sarah - and you know you don't have to live in the country to have chickens! If you have even a tiny back yard, most cities allow you to have 2-3 hens. That will supply you with plenty of eggs and entertainment. :)

Jane, I'll have to check with our town and see what they say. Years ago we had chickens and goats but I just assumed we had to give all that up when we moved to town. I do love living in town but I miss the animals.

Some towns will even allow small goats, like my Nigerian Dwarfs if your lot size is big enough. Having chickens in the city (or even rooftop lofts in some areas) is the new "in thing" to do. :) I know of a few cities that host "coop tour of dreams". Some of those coops are pretty elaborate!

Jane ..... yes it was. There really is some great inspiration over there. I just registered on Sunday. I have not got brave enough to post anything there yet. :o Are we supposed to credit the sketch templates also?
Shell ..... the pictures were taken at our summer place at Grand Lake. Of course I am biased ...... but yes New Brunswick is a beautiful place to live. :)

Crediting a sketch is nice, but usually optional. That sketch has been giving me fits - just can't seem to come up with anything for it.
We were up in New Brunswick the middle of August and it was very lovely. We did a taxi tour and met the nicest guy. Saw Reversing Falls and then went out to St. Martins and the Fundy Trail Parkway.

Kathy - a beauitful page. And I agree, saving for Web does a number on the page - besides that, the size negates alot of the cool effects you can do with elements. I put my scrapbook pages as my desktop photo for the day and the detail you can see doing that - almost makes up for not being able to "share" how good a page really looks.

Kathy, your page is beautiful, I have a similar image myself so I can imagine the colors.
Here is my new layout. The shots from tonights game weren't great. The visitors side faces the sun the whole game. I used backgrounds by Jane and Janice, Reka, the whistle.:D , Linda's chain and my own megaphone and alphas.

Michelle, Chance is #66 this year. He plays defensive tackle so you won't be seeing him make any TD's. You will see images of him like in the "Are you ready for some football" layout, that one is him. When I do Chance's football book I always add some pages of the other players too.

Janice, Kim and Mary ... thanks for the comments.
And regarding cleaning of fonts ..... I get a pop-up that says .... do you really want to delete ....when it is one of those ones that came with the program and would cause problems if they were deleted. Whenever I get one of those .... do you really want to do this? type message ... I say No since I am not technically savvy when it comes to the inner workings of the computer.

All of the kit work is fantastic and the layouts are beautiful! You've all been amazingly creative!
I had hoped to contribute too but we've been sidetracked here with my husband's illness so creativity has taken a back burner for the moment.
It's been fun, though, to browse through all of your postings and see what things everyone came up with and how they used the different elements! My mind is coming out of swamp mode and starting to get ideas already from just looking at the creative images!

Jen, I don't know about any tutorial for the blurred motion look. I duplicated the layer of my sons cut out, on the duplicate so to filter>blur>motion. Just adjust the blur to how you want it. Then just use the move tool and move the blurred image to the right until you get as much motion blur as you want.

Nice layout Janice.
The trees are starting to turn quite rapidly now here in New Brunswick. Each day just gets more colourful.

Mine is not an autumn layout but I used some of the kit and the challenge colours to create the flower.

Great layout!
Layouts don't need to be fall themed to use items from the kit. I've been working on one that is definately not fallish at all. :)

Background paper by Kathy.
The picture was taken by the folks over at the HP booth across the isle. Lets just say I wasn't impressed with the HP camera. It was only slightly better than the picture I took with my cell phone.

Kit: "Autumn Glow" by the PET Design Team
We got a brief break in the rain and fog yesterday afternoon, so I went in search of some fall colors. This was taken along the Santaim River, which is a few miles from my house.
Fall colors are actually hard to come by here - we have lots of evergreens and the scrub oaks just looks sort of dirty when they change colors.

Was working on this last night but felt it was missing something!
