I design Stained Glass patterns and would like to be able to erase any colors I've used leaving only a black outline of various areas. Can the eraser tool be used to erase everything except the color Black? This would be a helpful, and time saving trick if possible.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Yes, you could use the eraser to do this. It would probably be easier to use one of the selection tools to "capture" the colors, other than black, and then use the delete key. Depending on how much color variation you have, the magic wand might be a logical choice.
Why don't you post one of your images and people here can then give better advice.

hi ..
... and welcome to the forum :)
It may be easier to use the magic wand to select the black and then copy and paste it to its own layer ...

That was my feeling - or use magic wand to select black, inverse the selection and delete it.

Ann, Thank you for your help, I didn't realize the magic wand could select colors.
All you people are great!
