The Challenge is now posted after much delay. I was about to post the Challenge a bit early yesterday and at that time there was only one entry so I decided to wait an hour. I had gone sailing yesterday an, well, the sun had been hot and I fell asleep before I posted. Much apologies to all concerned.

Kim, I loved the Hitchkock poster idea, it's very clever. :)

Red Sky's "Sun" titles are a riot!! Fabulous job. :D :D

Maria -

Thank you for your kind comment! Though, I must admit, my parrots are not very menacing since they all seem to be facing the wrong way! Maybe that's "The Birds" true revenge.... the snub! :p

I really liked your entry, too! A very unique way of combining two challenges into one! You're very talented.

And I agree with you on Steven's photo - I think his true gift is wasted here when his true calling is obviously the tabloids! ;)

Mark Reif - I just saw your two submissions! Very funny!

LOL Kim! :D Yes, the snub can be the worst revenge... :p

Thank you VERY much for the kind words! :o :)

I lament the loss of The World Weekly News (which ceased publication this month) and all the other far fetched tabloids that kept me informed in the supermarket line. Knowing Bat Boy and Ed Anger (and Dear Dotty, who left a couple years back) wouldn't be around anymore is tough to take. I guess it is back to The Economist and the BBC for my news!

Steven!

Oh my gosh! I had forgotten about Bat Boy! The world mourns with you! http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sad/sad0024.gif (http://www.unblocked.org/surf.php?q=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5yYW1hZGFqYXJ2aXMuY28udWs %3D&hl=0)

Clearly what this man needs is more parrots -- it being 'Talk like a
pirate day', I'll just say 'Arrrrrr..., what great images!'

ALEX B: Good work removing the foreground figures and re-creating the
background. #2 got my Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville player going.
BARBARA W: Great kaleidoscope effects with the parrot plumage.
BILL Z: Love the impasto effect and color isolation.
BLUE S: Definitely the inside of the Tiki room -- now we just need the thunder and the volcano rumbles.
CHRIS R: Interesting decisions on what to leave color, what to make
black and white lines and what to make transparent -- neat look.
241Chuck F: Nice jungle relocation.
ELLEN H: More Parrothead flashbacks -- Aloha!
JACK S: What a crappy animation! Disgusting but cool. Love the textures in #2 (feathers and thatch).
JODI F: Nice work feathering out the parrots and creating the new
tropical background.
KIM B: Neat movie poster idea -- attack parrots would look better in
Technicolor.
MALCOLM D: Nice posterization -- love the bright colors.
MARIE EB: Arrr...a scurvy lass, indeed.
MARILYN L: Neat painterly efect on the birds and foliage -- love the
moonlight scene.
MARK R: The surfing parrot is great -- so do parrots hang four? And
what a pickup line in #2!
RITA G: Nice jungle relocation -- cutout filter for the colors?
RED S: Yesterday we had the Sun, now we have Fark. Love the headlines.

Bob,
thank you. It's slightly posterized plus a Filter called Beautifier from Red Paw Media .

Yes, #1 was rather crappy but I could not resist.....having experienced the disgust a couple times over the years while outdoors.

I surprised myself with the combinations of textures in #2. Trial and error is sometimes the best answer. It certainly exceeded the vision of what I was trying to do.

Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for taking the time to comment Bob. And once again you nailed the filter and effect. You have a great eye!
