Hello fello users!!! Ummm....you know what I mean.

I'm new to the photoshop experience and very excited about learning how do all kinds of interesting and creative editing. One of the things I've started to work on is a layout for my desktop. I've come up with several ideas but to make them work I need to create some new icons for programs that will be resting on the desktop.

Has anyone done this? How do I go about doing it? transparent background I assume? what size does the file have to be and how do I link it to the program.

Thanks in advance for your help.

BTW - the tutorials on this site are outstanding!!!!

Hi ...

I found this message on icons from Byron:

Just create an image 48x48, 32x32, or 16x16 px, and save it as a BMP. Then, in Windows, change the file extension from .BMP to .ICO and you're set.

and here is the whole thread:

Hope it helps :)
