Adobe has online training for version 6. I haven't seen an announcement about the software release yet on their website:

Thanks for the info.
The ones that look most interesting to the ungrading crowd probably are the following "e-seminars". I still am trying to figure out if there is a fee attached and whether these e-seminars are before or after the release of the new Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4.
Video Editing with Premiere Elements 4, September 25, 2007
What's New In Photoshop Elements 6, October 2, 2007
Tell Your Story with photos and videos using Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4, October 23, 2007
Keep us updated if you get any further reports.

I signed up for the e-seminar on the new features in PSE6. (What a good time: 11 a.m. PT - in the evening in Europe, so we can participate over here, too.) It is free, but you have to be registered.

http://www.muvipix.com already has some detailed information on the new version of Premiere Elements.
Here's an illustrated tour of some of the newest features:

There are also some great new tutorials, include a few complimentary pieces:

Just a reminder....
Have you checked out the Learning Center (a non subscriber area) at this web site? Some video tutorials on both Photoshop Elements 6.0 as well as Premiere Elements 4.0 have shown up.
Also, it is a good idea to see what is going on at the Premiere Elements User to User Forum at Adobe. Last I heard it was undergoing a "face lift" and should be back in action by tomorrow.
Learning comes from many sources.

Hello
I don't wander in this area too often (cause I don't have premiere) but I was wondering can you get Premiere as a stand alone or do you have to buy it as a bundle? I didn't see anywhere where it is offered as a stand alone product. So if it is available could someone direct me?
Thanks

Glad you wandered over. I hope that you come again.
Did you check out the Adobe site? I just found this link there for the Premiere Elements 4.0 standalone. Note the nudge to buy Photoshop Elements 6.0 and Premiere Elements 4.0 together rather than just buying Premiere Elements 4.0 by its lonesome!

Our fellow forum user efarnstrom did a great thing posting the notice about those e-seminars. I watched the first "Video Editing With Premiere Elements 4" and even was able to get some questions answered online at the end of the e-seminar. The test for me will be the tryout. I am still procrastinating with Photoshop Elements 3.0 and Premiere Elements 2.0 which do a great job for me.
To be continued...

I just got finished paying for PE5 and Prem.3 and now their are new versions. How often does this happen. Now I need to upgrade again to get all the new goodies.

Its seems like every year around September/October. If you are thinking upgrade, I would consider your needs versus what the new features will do to advance your creativity and workflow.

Yes, I did noticed the push to buy the bundle instead of just Premiere but I am kinda fed up with purchasing a new product every year. I started with PSE 3 then 4, and now currently using PSE 5 (which I love) so I am a little hesitant to buy PSE 6 but, never say never right.....:)
Thanks again for the info.

What I'm a bit confused about is whether I should buy the bundle or just Premiere Elements alone. It's not clear at all from the Adobe website what features you miss out on when you don't bundle Photoshop Elements 6. I'm quite happy with GIMP at the moment, but if I simply *cannot* create my own DVD menu templates without PSE, then that's how I justify the extra $$ to the wife. Or if I can't do certain titling effects etc.
Does anyone have a comprehensive list of the benefits of the bundling, assuming I'm not really looking for image editing capabilities?
TIA,
-Dave.

I am not sure what you mean by create DVD menus with PSE. Do you mean create from scratch or edit?
As far as I know, you had to have specifically Photoshop Elements 4 and Premiere Elements 2 installed on your computer in order to get the DVD menu-making wizard to show up in Photoshop Elements 4 (location, thanks to Bryon, File/New/DVD Template).
You lost that integration perk when you went to Photoshop Elements 5 and Premiere Elements 3 (combo), and I am not sure if that feature will resurface in this new Photoshop Elements 6 Premiere Elements 4 combo (somehow, I doubt it).
Information about the upgrades is coming slowly. The only integration that I know of at this time is the sharing of a common database/catalog Organizer.
Also, last I heard is that, like Photoshop Elements 5 and Premiere Elements 3, you should be able to send a wmv or as is from Photoshop Elements 6 to Premiere Elements 4 (this has editing implications in Premiere Elements).
Have you seen the Premiere Elements 4 and Photoshop Elements 6 Read Mes from Adobe:

There is an Adobe e-seminar scheduled for 10/23/07, Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4 (Tell Your Story With Photos And Videos), you may want to visit Adobe and sign up for it (no charge). See link already in this forum thanks to sfarnstrom. Hopefully integration between the two programs will be discussed there or sooner.
I post when I get more information.

Not sure what happened. I meant to send you an add on message and instead go my last post duplicated...
Just this, to be complete, Photoshop Elements alone is not going to produce a DVD VIDEO from your Photoshop Elements slideshow. You will need additional software to get that job done. Premiere Elements is integrated with Photoshop Elements to get that job done. Others would suggest other software. Be that as it may, Photoshop Elements needs something else to get to DVD VIDEO for TV viewing. Unless, of course, you go to another popular brand that does all in one software.
This story has been retold many times in these forums.

Thanks ATR.
For DVD menus, I'm actually not sure what I meant - just what I'd heard about PRE2 as you mentioned. I know PRE isn't well regarded for DVD authoring, and I've used PRE3 a bit. The reason I'm considering PRE(4) is because it seems better bang for buck that other all-in-ones I've tried (and the PRE3 tryout was less crashy than those all-in-ones, although I don't have super high expectations of early PRE4). And I can't justify the $$ for equivalent capability from Avid/Pinnacle etc.
So far -
- PSE6 for full-res slideshows (i.e. to PDF/email etc, not to DVD)
- Organiser
Neither of these are killer features for me. D'ya reckon I'd get a straight answer if I asked Adobe directly?
-Dave.
