I recieved Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 in the mail direct from Adobe today. Tried to install it over the Elements 3.0 trial version but I get a message during installation 'Insert disk 1'. There is only one disk and it is already in the drive! I can't proceed any farther and the installation is aborted. Any suggestions?

I considered un-installing the Elements 3.0 trial version before installing the full version, but did not want to risk losing the photos I had imported into the trial version. Would those photos be safe if I do a un-install?

Also, my computer came with PhotoShop Album. Since I don't need that anymore can I safely delete Album without losing any photos I impported into that program? If so, do I need to do anythingto get those photos to show up in Elements?

First just uninstall elements -- the data records are left intact (means you won't lose your pix)

Then install the permanent version of 3 and import all pictures into the organizer -- if you're on a windows machine. Then you can safely uninstall album as all your pictures will be tucked into organizer and ready for you to work on them or do whatever you need.

I suspected the pictures would be safe. Too important to take chances with.

Thank you for the help.

I agree we need to all back up our pictures on another media -- I hadn't back them up recently and had my computer crash -- so now I'm a back-up maniac.
