I was getting some irratic behavior with the PSE 4.0 organizer so I loaded PSE 5.0. Now, in some ways performance has improved, in some ways not. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.
Background: HP Pavillion zd7000, 2.99Ghz w/ 1GB ram. Photos on 320 GB external USB drive.
Current Problem: Upon launching, Organizer does not alway locate and "connect" with all the images. In another situation, multiple images can be selected for printing, then previewed, but when the Print button is pressed, a dialog comes up that says "images xxx cannot be printed" and it skips to the next image. Also, there is a seperate dialog box (outside of PSE) that says "delayed write failed - windows was unable to save all the data for file E:\$mft. The data has been lost. Error may be caused by hardware or network connection. Try to save elsewere." Note, E: drive is the external hard drive. And, that this window comes up at seemingly random times, not when saving anything.
Question: Is there a practical limit on the number of files Organizer can handle? I am only at 5500 images, but I am just curious.
Thanks for your comments.
