I have purchased a Porcelain effect but not getting the results that I've seen with other pics that are posted. All I end up with is a b/w picture with soft faded edges. Can anyone suggest settings that I may play with?

Joseph

Hi Joseph and welcome. There are several actions available for purchase for the Porcelain effect. Which one did you get. Not all actions are the same so the settings could be different. I have the one from Photo Blast (ezphoto). The contrast boost and blur are two settings that you can adjust with it to get a nicer effect.

In addition to the contrast boost and blur that Kim mentioned, you will need to take a soft round brush (various sizes) at around a 30% or less opacity and color dodge the facial areas to achieve the true porcelain effect.

Thank you "AngelicKim" & "DeeDeeO" for your input. I can't wait to try out the information that you gave me. The effect that I am using was purchased from Photo Blast.

Joseph, the Photo Blast action will fully customizable on the settings. Each step will allow you to play with the setting to your preference. THe step Denise mentioned, the action doesn't do but it tells you that you can do it and explains it a little.
