In Timteamouse tutorial on Vintage frame (the new tutorial on page 4 of post), I have run into a problem:
"[Step: 14]
Now click the create "New effect layer" icon at the bottom right of the filter palette to create a new effect layer to work with."
I am using PSE 4, and I don't think I have "new effect layer" in my layer palette. Is there a work around for PSE 4? I'm stopping at that step for now.

Suzanne,
According to Photoshop CS2 Help info, I think that if you just applied an Style Layer then clicked on the (f) at right side of layer thumbnail to change properties of style (effect) that would be the workaround.

Hi Suzanne,
I haven't been following the tute you're talking about, but reading the instructions makes me wonder if he's referring to this:

If you use that, you can lay one effect on top of another and view the cumulative result. You can save with the "OK" button, delete either filter effect with the trash can, or hit cancel and go do something else.
HTH,
Steve

Doug, I don't have CS2, I have PSE 4 and there is no "layer style" that I can find. I will try Steve's suggestion.

Steve, that was it! Thank you so much. I didn't even know that was there! Still learning after all these years (I think there's a song by that title, somewhat plagerized by me!):D

Hi Suzanne,
I'm glad that I could help....I didn't even know that was there! Still learning after all these years...
I can't tell you how many times I've said that to myself after reading something in this forum. I love this place and the generous people who post here and make us all smarter :)
Have fun,
Steve

Suzanne, I think the song was Still Crazy After All These Years. But hey, we are talking about PSE so I think it fits perfectly.:D;)

You are right Kim. Of course "crazy" and "learning" are somewhat synonymous. Sometimes learning can make you crazy!
