Hi, I am hoping someone can help me with this.
I have an Epson R2400. I have special purchased the Epson 12x12 matte photo paper.
When I attempt to print my 12 x 12 scrapbook pages the printer is automatically croping approximately .2 off of each side. The printer appears to be set to 12 x 12 paper, the paper itself is 12 x 12, and the scrapbook page that I have made in elements 5 is 12 x 12.
I have phoned the Epson help desk and they were of little to no help.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this.
Also, I have made sure that the printer driver is up to date.
Please help.

is it supposed to do a full bleed? meaning that it prints all the way to the edge of the paper? I know whenever I have gotten my 12x12s printed (by an online vendor) they always have a slim white border. BEST OF LUCK!

Shannon,
It sounds like either PSE or the printer driver is adding a margin to the page. When you get the print dialog box check the position settings and also try the page setup button to see if you have margin options. In page setup you could also try using a custom page size without margins.

I don't have a 2400 but if it's anything like my Epson printer you need to select borderless in Printer Properties every time because it defaults to having a border. If you have borderless selected you might also want to check the Borderless Expansion Setting (Mine's in the Page Layout tab in Printer Properties) - that controls how much prints off the edge of the paper (called overspray) and mine defaults to maximum - I always change it Minimum so I don't lose so much of the print off the edge.

Dear Wormmeshi,
Although what you suggested was not what the problem was, your suggestion led me to the answer.
Thank you very very much.
There is a setting under the printer properties, page setup, page layout called boarderless expansion. By default it is set to maximum. It appears that setting this to minimum has fixed the problem.

Shannon,
I'm glad you were able to figure it out. I don't have an Epson printer so my response was pretty generic. It looks like TonyW was right on the money.

I don't have the large format Epson, but now you have me curious as to whether I have borderless expansion. I can print borderless but do it seldom.
I just learned how to set my color profiles - wow - that made such a difference. And it ONLY took me three years to figure out how to use color profiles. LOL

I've got the Epson 2200 and recently purchased the R1800 too for the borderless option.
I'd be interested to know if when you run out of toner on the 2400 if it spits the paper out. With my 2200 the printer stops printing and I can change the ink right then and push the button to continue printing. With the 1800 when it runs out it spits the page out and you have to print all over again.

I do believe my Epson "checks" the available ink prior to starting printing. And you get the ink cartridge screen showing the approximate amount of ink in each cartridge each time you print.
Just recently, the ink ran out and it stopped between pages to tell me to put a new cartridge in.
You do get a warning far, far before you need to change cartridges - in fact, with Epson, your ink low light seems to blink all the time because with 8 cartridges - one of the cartridges is always low.

My printer is also constantly blinking that one of the cartridges is low. In the beginning I used to replace the cartridge as soon as it blinked and then I read somewhere to wait until it was empty which was a great tip because I could print a lot more pages until the cartridge was completely empty.
I'm wondering if I'm missing something on the printer preferences where it will stop in the middle of the page and let me replace the cartridge instead of spitting out the page half printed. If anyone knows please let me know.
Thanks!

Can you explain any tip on setting the color profiles becauses like you said it took you 3 years to figure it out and I've been trying things but I've never been 100% happy with the results.
Thanks!
