I came across this tip sometime around 3am this morning - just can't remember where it was I saw it. At any rate, I thought I would pass it along.
Right click on a file folder and select "properties" (all the way at the bottom of the list) and then choose the "customize" tab. About half way down the dialog box, under "Folder Pictures" is an option to "choose picture". You can then choose any picture to show up on the front of the folder. For kit files, try using the composite picture that came with the kit - that way you can tell at a glance what is in that kit.
FYI - the picture on the front of the file only shows up if you are using the "thumbnails" option for viewing your files.
