I'm considering buying PSE 5, since the price has come done on some sites (Ebay has some good prices also.) But I don't want it to overwrite my settings or my organizer. Those of you who have upgraded, how did you handle this?

I have both 4 & 5 and now CS3 seperately on my computer  It does not overwrite it.

Can you access your organizer from 5? Or can you migrate your organizer from 4 to 5? Probably more questions coming to mind soon :confused:

I have not used the organizer at all. I think I have way too many images that it tries to access and pull into the organizer so it ends up crashing. I am sure someone else will have the answer to that question. I have seen it discussed here a few times.

It supposedly converts your catalogue when it installs. I can't remember if it asks or not.

There is a bit of a rumour that PE6 is just around the corner. Likely the reason you are seeing 5 at good prices. :)

I've read that on this forum. It seems that so many tutorials and videos are written for PSE 5. But if 6 is on the horizon, I'd have the same problem with 5 that I'm now having with 4. Might not be a bad idea to wait. Somewhere I read "maybe" October?

Nobody knows for sure (if they do they aren't saying :)). If the reason for the upgrade is the tutorials then waiting a month or so may be your best bet.
