I have PSE 5 I'm so new at this I squeak! Can you believe that now I can't reduce the Creations page enough to see Title Bar, or bottom bar w/light bulb on it, nor the #4 option check boxes. So I can't make Creations. If I check layout, theme etc, then I can't go any further. I have to press ESC to exit the page. But then I'm back to square one b/c my choices are deleted. I tried clicking top and bottom, dragging corners as I did on the Org'r and Editor, but to no avail. My taskbar doesn't show either so I can't rt click to choose resize options. F11 didn't do anything either. I adjusted my monitor screen so I can see the black edges but that didn't help either.I hope it's something really simple and easily fixed. Can you help? Anyone? :digital dotty

Dotty,

It sounds as if your computer's display is set at a lesser resolution than the 1024x768 minimum, which PSE requires.

If you right-click a blank spot on your desktop, then choose Properties, then pick the Settings tab, what value is specified in the "Screen resolution" setting?

Byron, You can rest peacefully now b/c that did the trick. I can see everything on the creations screen now. It's funny that all the other screens in PSE5 were fine at the lower setting. Are you seriously suggesting that I actually read instuctions on the software and follow them? :) You're the best ! I'm curious about your choice of Avatar or is that too personal? thanks again....digital dotty

Byron...that did the trick. I can see everything on the creations screen now...I'm curious about your choice of Avatar...Dotty,

I'm glad to know it was an easy fix! There are some other parts of the GUI which won't work well with a lower resolution - I just can't recall them at the moment! It is typical, though, that buttons are off-screen, in that case.

My avatar is not a short story - but not too long, either. :p

I received the animated bug in an email, and modified him for my avatar. I christened him "archy" after the cockroach in Don Marquis' writings (http://www.donmarquis.com/archy/index.html).

Suffice it to say that archy was either loved (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22565) or hated (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21734) by the forum denizens. In the end (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26479), the collective bad vibes were too much for him...

I suppose it's is about time for me to come up with a real replacement - but it is so hard to let go...

Byron - I have floaters in my eyes - and your bug friend looks just like one of them. Sometimes when I move my eyes across the screen - I think archy has escaped the confines of your avatar.
