Trying to learn how to get around and just play. Sticking with one effect at a time because you want to try them all.

Hi gostate1,

Your link isn't working. Get into your gallery and:
1. make sure you click "share my gallery"
2. make sure you select a "main image"

Rusty

PS - you must have edited it while I was typing :) -- good job on the sketch!

Very nice, the simple crocks and background are perfect for this.

I've seen seen a variety of images with this effect on the forum lately and really like it. Is there a tutorial or thread you can point me to, to try it out?

Thanks!

This is the effect that you guys are referring to, I believe:

Sketch Effect

Ctrl J to copy.
Ctrl+Shift+U to remove color.
Ctrl J to copy the black and white layer. On this layer Ctrl I to invert.
Change the blend mode on inverted layer to Color Dodge.
Go to Filter, Other, Minimum. I used 4 pixels or so.

Now go back to original layer( the one with color).
Ctrl J to copy.
Drag that layer to the top and reduce the opacity.
Merge the top three layers so you're left with two layers.
Ctrl J to copy.
Go to Filter, Artistic, Poster Edges.
Play with the opacity until you get something you like.

Thanks Sela,
I've been combing this forum for instructions for weeks!

Is this one of Kimi's weekly tutorials? Looked there first but couldn't find it if it is...
