View Full Version : Save Thumbnail?

In my haste, I accidently deleted some pictures I very much want.
And have dumped the trash bin. They are still in the Organizer as "thumbnails" (Is that the correct term?) Is there any way I can save that thumbnail as a picture? It still looks good in the Organizer. (I just bought an external hard drive for backups!)
Thanks

Beve,
The "thumbnails" could also be called "proxy" images which are used when the actual file is offline. Which I suppose might apply in this instance. That term may help your search.
I can find the file where these images are kept "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Catalog Folders\My Catalog\thumb.5.cache" but I don't know of a way to extract specific images. Sorry.

Depending on the setting of the Proxy File Size, saving a screenshot may be a possibility. Mine is set at 640 x 480 pixels and the images display rather decently on screen, possibly even at larger dimensions. If the Proxy File Size is bigger, so much the better. Printing any of these images would be pushing things somewhat, though...

66 year-old grammy and 13 year old granddaughter arrive at beach in the evening wearing shorts- and tops! The tide is coming in - grammy thought it was going out. A sandbar is barely covered, but between the beach and the sandbar is a little over knee-high water. Grammy challenges DGD to go to bar. NO, not unless Grammy goes. So in goes Grammy followed by DGD. They laughingly get to the sandbar and dance around. The water is getting higher so they trudge back in to shore in almost butt-deep water. Fortunately, son-in-law's car seats were plastic.
Grammy & DGD have a great memory, which a friend photographed.
I, Grammy, loaded Amy's card down to my laptop. As I had not discovered the photocard slot before, it was a new experience. I later worked deleting the over 400 pictures that were downloaded and missed saving the sandbar ones! Anything I can recover will be great!
Thanks so much!
