This is my first post to this thread but have lurked for some years now. I am going to try to get into the movie and slideshow portion of Elements. I have Premiere 1 on my computer and am thinking about upgrading to V3. I just tried to download the trial version but it was going to take something like 7 hours so I stopped it.:( My question is, "Is there a great big difference between the two?" The upgrade price is $66.00 USD and this is not out of line and if there is a noticeable difference I will upgrade. Next question, "Is there going to be V4 out soon?" I don't want to upgrade to V3 if there is going to be a V4 soon.
Thank you in advance for your speedy responses.

I usually see comments such as the following.

If you have Premiere Elements 1, it is worthwhile to upgrade to Premiere Elements 2 or 3. But, if you have Premiere Elements 2, it is not all that worthwhile to upgrade to Premiere Elements 3.

I do not have any inside information. But there seems to be more and more hints of a new version for Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements due any day.

Whatever you decide, make sure of your computer system and the Adobe product System Requirements.

If getting into Premiere Elements action as soon as possible is a priority, then consider this. It has been my observation that the availability of the download tryout for the new version from Adobe usually lags behind the release for purchase of that new version.

Maybe visit the Premiere Elements User to User Forums at Adobe http://www.adobe.com and look at the problems/solutions there.
