I found many interesting and helpful videos in the subscriber area that I'd like to be able to save to my computer for future reference. When I clicked on one, it started playing immediately with no option I could see to save. I went to the FAQ. The first option I see there is to buy the full version of Quiktime. The other option is geared toward IE to be able to save the videos to the hard drive. I have Firefox and, of course, the path is not the same. In Firefox, how do I get to "Internet Options>Settings>Temporary Internet Files Folder", so I can save the videos to my hard drive? You all are so techno-smart, I'm sure any one of you can answer my question.;)

Your pictures in your gallery ar great. I have a question.....where did you get the template for the stainglass that you used for the picture of the old barn....or did you make it. If you made it how do you go about doing that. Thanks in advance
Hal

Hi Suzanne;

I use IE and bought the upgrade to QT and it works very well. I set up
a folder for saving these movies and nothing else - real easy..

If you do upgrade - be aware that all you get is a password to unlock
something that is already there.. also DO NOT upgrade QT of you will
have the opportunity to buy a new password...

Suzanne,
I use firefox and the way I save videos is -

Let the video play right through. Then right click in the white area where the title is.
In the box that opens click View Page Info.
Then click Media, then Embed.
You should now see a save button, save to location of your choice.
That's it.
Hope this helps.
Kev.

There is a great plug-in for Firefox called unplug that has a fish icon. It's very easy to use and can be downloaded from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2254

I downloaded that, but for some reason it didn't work. Kev's instructions work perfectly.

Kev--I also have Firefox. I tried your method of saving the videos but when I get to the step "click Media, Then Enbed" I do not find Embed anywhere. I know I am just doing something simple wrong but I have tried for 15 minutes now with no success.:(

Garry,
can't understand why you don't see the embed function.
Does your screen look like my screen shot?

Kev--Thanks for the speedy response. No, my screen does not look like yours. You have "ICON" "BACKGROUND" & " EMBED"
All I have are the top two, no EMBED.
I will try again tonight to make sure I can't get it.
Again Thank You.

I've had a computer since 1992 and have been downloading and using programs like this for years. Doesn't matter anyway, because Kev's instructions are easy and worked, so why bother.

I used to be able to save the videos. Shortly after I joined something was changed and I couldn't do it anymore. Do I have to purchase the new quicktime? What is firefox? Sorry I'm not computer literate. THanks

Brenda,
Firefox is a free alternative to IE.
It is supposed to be safer than IE. If you do a google search you should find the download page.

Kevq,

Not sure why it's not working for you guys. I've been using it for about a year now with no problems. Oh well, such is the life with a computer. :)
