I ordered some Art Canvas, especially made for inkjet printers and it came yesterday, so I tried it out tonight. I just love it! I took one of the portraits I did of Ashley and applied the Artistic Rough Pastel filter to it with the canvas texture, then printed it on the canvas and it looks wonderful.

If anyone is interested in trying it, this is the one I used:

Actually I bought the assortment package, but I haven't tried the other two yet:

This is the photo I used with the rough pastel effect, and it looks even better printed on the canvas. It has so much depth and the lighting on the face and neck looks so warm on the printed version. It really gives it a Mona Lisa look.

I have printed on canvas in the past and always loved the look. Haven't been able to find and canvas paper I like lately though so thanks so much for the link.

BTW, I can just picture the image you have done on canvas.

If anyone lives in the HB/Fountain Valley area [California] there's a place I've used to have canvas prints made. He has a wonderful gallery and if you're in the area, I recommend stopping in and taking a look.

His gallery/shop is right across the parking lot from Islands Cafe. On the south/west corner of Brookhurst and Ellis.

Russ! I have been there a few times too, although I have not yet had anything printed there. This is maybe 2 miles from where I live. There is also a photography studio in the same center now, tucked back in a corner.

Vicki, I have had a few things printed there. He is on the expensive side, but his work is excellent. As a test I bought some blank canvas pages and printed the same pictures he printed for me. There's no comparison, his work is far superior.

As for the photographer in the same center, I forget his name, but when my oldest son was in high school that photographer was just getting started as a professional. At the time he specialized in taking pictures of surfers, mainly the ones who surfed the HB pier. About a year ago I happened to see his studio so I went in to see if was the same person [it was].

Diana, thanks for the links. I've been meaning to buy the canvas for printing but haven't yet. Lee had posted a couple of links regarding canvas and I jotted it down w/all intension of ordering but never did.
