Another scrapbook page I've tried. Any comments would be welcome! Not sure if it's too plain or the colors aren't right. I was scanning in old photos. We used to go to the Outer Banks every year way back with our best friends and this is a picture of my friend Barb and her daughter Leanne. Leanne is now 21!

I think the colors work together well - anything more bright or colorful would overwhelm the picture. A very lovely and well crafted layout!

(PS - love the tassels!:))

Norma, great layout. The colors are just right IMO. I'll bet your friend will love the page.

Actually, I think that page is absolutely perfect. It conveys such a touching moment - the page coloring enhances the photo

Thanks guys! Was thinking of maybe cropping the right side so just the wall shows on the right.

cropping to the wall might improve the focus of the photo - now that you mention it - but I never noticed it to begin with - so it can't be all that jarring. And maybe, the reason the photo works so well on this page, is because of the extra "stuff" on the right of the wall.

Great thing about digital - try it and see if you like it better. Can't do that with paper scrapping. LOL

I'm always going back and changing something. I'm just never satisfied. I cropped the right out and made the image a little bigger. Also tried to sharpen a bit since it was an old picture.

Hi Norma - By the time I saw this post you already had your revised version. I love the revision, with the cropping, sharpening and revised placement of the text. All of the subtle colors are just perfect. I'm sure your friend will love it.

Norma,

I liked the first version, and the second is even better. The crop brings out the main focus of the photo--your friend and her child. Beautiful page!

Linda and Kim, thank you so much! I think I finally like it now. I think my friend will love it! I think I might do one of her son too but that one is just a head shot.

Norma - going to go against the concensus

I liked the photo before.

But guess what? I don't get a vote. LOL

I'm glad you're happy with the change.

Either way - the page is great

Very nice as is. But I wanted to see what it would look like if you colorized the little girl using the pretty lavendar for her clothes. I've been getting a kick out of colorizing old black and white photos.

(For those of you who haven't discovered it yet it is a simple matter of adding a layer on top, painting in a color on that layer, and changing the blend mode to color.)
