I got my wife this giant plant for a welcome home present (she was visiting Minnesota) turns out hummingbirds seem to like it, in fact the second I put it on my garden pedestal a hummingbird came out of no where & hovered right next to me as if he was giving his approval:D This morning I set up the tripod & camera, grabbed a chair & my coffee. My hopes weren't very high, no sooner did I get the rig all set up my visitor comes by for his photo shoot. This is one of the photos.

Great shot Rob! Wish I had some hummingbirds around here...I love those little birds! I have no flowers around my house right now.

Wonderful shot, Rob. Lovely to see it as they are not a bird we see here (UK),

Lisa :)

Rob,
great shot. I've only seen hummers on the TV, wish we had them over here.

Beautiful picture. I love hummingbirds. They sound like a big mosquito when they buzz by your head, sometimes I duck when they buzz over my head. Thanks for posting. What a way to start to a morning, a cup of coffee, a beautiful flower and hummingbirds:D

Well done, Rob. They are a lot of fun to watch. They are territorial little buggers, though.

Yes they are, I have a few of them battling for the spot. I got them a feeder as well to keep them happy:D

Nice shot Rob. We have so few flowers this year because of the the drought that we had to hang a feeder. They seem very content with that too but it doesn't make for as nice a photo as a natural plant does.

Well, I can see why this little fella gave his approval. They seem to love the color of your flowers. Bright pink also seems to be favored!

This is my favorite time of year for the hummingbirds here. They get so wonderfully territorial and greedy that I get to see 5 and 6 at a time in the yard. There is this constant chatter from them as they chase each other and try to sneak up to the feeders without another hummingbird seeing them!

Nice photo! You'll soon have a bulging folder just of hummingbird files!
