How do convert a slide into a editable photo in elements 4.0?

I have a Epson Perfection 2450 Photo Scanner. How do I use it to scan my slide into elements either as an import or from the desktop.

Thanks

Your scanner should have a slide scan adaptor, otherwise it won't work.

Scan like you always do, but change the source document from reflective (photo) to transparancy (slide)
Scan at a high dpi so you get the color data needed to englarge the scanned imge. This link should give you the info you need,
http://www.image-access.net/calc/index.html

After you scan:
Open elements: elelments>File>Open>Scan name. After you correct save as: Name you want.

Depending on how many slides you have, it may pay to buy a refurbished scanner from the Epson store. Their refurbished equipment is excellent. Just make sure it comes equipped with a slide adaptor.

Or you can send them out for scanning. Search the net for slide scanning services. They are rather inexpensive especially in quantities. Most of these services will probably give you better quality than you would get at home. Make sure you tell them what your final print size will be. You can probably email these services and get all the information you need to get successful scans.
Hope this helps.

The Epson Perfection 2450 should have a built in light source in the lid for scanning films and transparencies, at a resolution of up to 2400x4800 dpi, which should be fine for normal use. And a set of adaptors for holding slides or films.

The instructions for using this are in the product documentation. If you've lost or mislaid it, you can download it here (http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Doc&oid=14558&prodoid=9679213). You just need to get a file in any standard graphics format that can then be loaded into PSE.

Is there some specific part of the process that's causing you confusion?

There should also be a white pressure pad to remove and possibly a short cable to plug in between lid and base - its probably already attached to the lid [Power to the light in lid]

My Epson 3170 does that
