I don't know where else to go, but I see some people ask CS2 questions here.

I'm creating a flier in CS2 and can't figure out how to draw a straight line and how to underline text.

Thanks for the help!

If Text in CS2 is anything at all like Elements,
click the symbol for underline after you select your font, size, etc

If it is unlike PSE, I don't have a clue

I don't have CS2 on my computers anymore, but I'm guessing that the Text Tool Toolbar will have a T symbol with an underline on it as it does in Elements. That would take care of the underline.

To draw a line, you can use the brush tool set at a small tip size and whatever color line you want. Click once where you want the line to begin, then move the brush (without holding down the mouse button) to where you want the line to end. While holding down the shift, click the mouse again and you have your line.

I figured out how to underline. It's not next to the "Bold" and "Italics" labels like it usually would be.

As far as drawing a line goes...I didn't want to do it free style. In some programs you can access a line that can be manipulated.

Guess I'm not explaining it correctly.

Thanks for the help.

Chuck did explain it. Hold down the shift key and click points - that will give you straight lines between the points.

Do you want the line to be perfectly horizontal or vertical? Please say more about what you want to do with the line.

I'm kinda flying blind because I replaced CS2 with CS3, but isn't there a Line tool in the tool box on the left of your screen? There's one in CS3 and I don't believe it's a new feature.... It may not be visible because it's nested with the Rectangle and several other shapes; not sure what appears by default

Chuck: Good thinking - I'd forgotten about the line tool - it's just the same in CS2 and Elements. Well not quite the same because in CS2 you can make it a path and then add points and turn it into all kinds of wierd but smooth shapes :)
