Whew! I am almost done with my first project which is coming out OK for a first time. Cant really coordinate the music with the scene change exactly but for my first effort it is pretty good.

A few issues though.

I want to use the same title template in consecutive scene panels with some language changes. I want to dissolve into the second one with additional language so that it will look like that words are being added. But when I highlight the template in the second panel and make the language change, it also changes the language in the first panel. Am I missing something?

Now that I have almost 100 stills in the project and run through it, each of the scenes is a little short, considering the transitions, etc. I read somewhere that you cant just lengthen them all at once, but what is the easiest way? When I was in the timeline screen last night I tried to do something to one of the scene icons just below the monitor and it looked like by clicking and holding on the right edge of a scene icon I could lengthen its playing time, but because that was not what I was trying to do at the time, I kind of freaked out and undid it. Is that a valid way to extend the scene times?

Thanks to all. I hope these questions are not too much of an imposition.

I have to say that even knowing the small amount about the programs that I have learned so far that they truly are amazing.

TITLES
I am not completely clear on what you want to do with those titles (rolling effect, other), but I would suggest multi titles above Video 1, each on its own video track. After that you could use keyframing to achieve your goal. Have you dealt with keyframing before? If not, two resources are:
Learning Center (non subscriber area) of this web site, Premiere Elements 3.0 section, video tutorial on keyframing.
The web site http://www.muvipix.com has two good free video tutorials on Titles.

Alternatively, you might use multi titles above Video 1, but, instead of them being aligned vertically, you could align them in a train manner, for want of a better description. Not sure if that would work for you.

STILL IMAGE DURATION (100 Stills)

Probably the easiest way for changing duration of 100 stills all at one time is to
Bring your stills into the Media Panel,
Highlight them or whatever you want to use,
Go to the More on the Media Panel, and, from the pop up menu, select Create a Slideshow
There you can set the duration in frames or seconds (I find it easier to switch frames to seconds and then enter my seconds figure. I guess you could use frames and calculate second equivalent based on 30 frames/sec but…) When you click OK, you will find your stills on the Timeline all with the duration that you set.

Alternatively, BEFORE you bring media into the Media Panel,
Go to Edit/Preferences/General (Alternate route, Media Panel's More pop up list option “still image duration”)
There you can set the still image duration for your project (with my Premiere Elements 2.0, there is only this still image duration adjust option in frames (no seconds).
Then bring your Media into the Media Panel. The stills dragged to the Timeline will have the “Preference” set duration. If you start making these adjustments, it is a good idea to see where they are the next time.

Also to be considered, if you want to change the still image duration for a given still, you could
Make sure that the Timeline Selection Tool Icon (far left) is active
Take your cursor to the Timeline to the end edge of your still
When the cursor looks like a red backward E with its center a two side black arrow, click, drag, release.

Experiment and see what works for you.
