Does anyone know of an automated way of adding selected exif data to an image? There is a nice framing script that lets you resize, add text etc Mike's Framer (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/pooternerds/Framer/CS2%20Framing%20Script.html), but this is for CS2.

Hi John ..
Well I have to admit that I can't think of a way ... maybe someone else will come up with something.

I wonder if the way to go might be action-based. I see that there are ways of running Photoshop Actions in Photoshop Elements (http://hiddenelements.com/actions_whitepaper.html). Perhaps something like this with whatever action extracts the exif info from Photoshop could be used. Of course this is a bit of a catch-22 situation as the actions have first to be created in Photoshop - but if I had Photoshop in the first place, I wouldn't be worried about trying to do it in Elements.

Hi John ...
Yes that really does get to the base of the problem ...
... and whilst Elements will run actions it will only run ones where the steps within the action are do able in Elements. Some of which are not ... also the actions cannot be in an action set as Elements can't see within those.
The thing you are looking for is fairly specialised so that complicates it as well.
If I think of anything I will let you know :)

Thanks again Wendy. While most of the actions in Mike's Framer can be reproduced in Elements, I've not yet came across an automated way of extracting selected exif values. I have also posted a message in the Canon Digital Photography Forums (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=75175&page=16) where the author of Mike's Framer has a thread. I've asked him if he thinks that his script would run with the actions in Elements trick.
